What's new

Its Kanter, D-Will2.0, and Knight in no particular order

I think Minny will trade out of 2, Williams projects to be a Beasley clone. Possibly a slightly better one, but nearly identical skill sets. Whatever team trades up though will take Williams though so its all the same to us.

...unless Minny trades the #2 to us for the #3 and either a player or another pick. If I'm Minny, someone is going to have to trade me an all-star or near-all-star to get me to give up the #2 pick, but swapping the #2 for #3 isn't a big deal if the player I want isn't Derrick Williams.

Who knows they might, its Kahn we're talking about after all. However, they have clearly said they are looking for a veteran star though, probably a shooting guard or center. Philly may dangle Iggy and a future pick for him. Minny could simply give them back a TPE they are way under the cap. Would be tough to beat that.

That would be a fairly decent deal for Minny, although Iggy is expensive and not the best shooter. That said, do you think Philly would take Williams or Kanter?

Philly really needs a Center. If Kanter well play Center along side Brand they I could see them taking him over any other player in the draft. Williams doesn't help them much with Brand, Young, and Speights taking up the PF min and Young, Turner on the wings.

It would be extremely hard to do a deal with Portland, who have shown the drive to go out of their way to **** with us.

This is a myth. Portland was trying to steal RFAs from a team that was in a tight position financially. Exactly the same thing we did when we stole Boozer from Cleveland. There was never any truth to the idea that Portland was just trying to screw us over by making us overpay to keep our RFAs. This should be obvious by the way things worked out. Wes has been a great pick up for them, and Millsap would have been as well. Time to let this nonsense go.
