Marginally related news... Cooley signed with Cleveland and had a quite a good game - 6pts 15rbs 1blk in 18min.

Glad to see him play in the league, he is a hard worker.

15 boards in 18 mins
Damn

That is a lesson to all basketball players alive, amateurs and professionals alike - boxing out can carry you a long, long way.

Cooley didn't fit in our system. He fits perfectly with the Cavs IMHO. He doesn't require shots. They need enforcers to make things uncomfortable and guys to pick up the trash that Lebron & Co don't actually put in the canister. Tristan Thompson looked like a top 4 pick for the first time in his career last year in the playoffs doing things that Cooley can bring. Offensive rebounds, enforcer, and hard worker. Tristan doesn't want to accept less money so Lebron can get more and Cooley might just take away Tristan's leverage. MIGHT... I say. Good for Cooley. He would never have worked here with the Jazz as we are currently constructed. We need more fire power, not less on the court.

You are aware he probably isn't making the team? Or, at best, he will make the team until they finally work out a contract with Thompson? Cooley in no way takes away Thompson leverage, if anything it would increase it if Cooley actually plays Thompson's minutes as Cooley is about 1/100th of the defensive player Thompson is.

Jack Cooley was waived by the Cavaliers. Do the right thing and pick him up again, Dennis Lindsey, and we'll pretend nothing ever happened.

I hear Carl Dowling is available from the Idaho Stampede, he averaged abouut 7.3PPG, 2.1APG, 1.2RPG, has a great talent at dribbling the ball, maybe we should pick him up. Or Darryl DeDawkins, Jazz should pick him up too, he's about 6'4"
