Jackpotting Around Episode 34 - Giannis and Other Things

Aren't we worried about Giannis' mid-to-long term prospects? I'm not saying I wouldn't do it... but I think it's not as simple as you guys are making it out to be. You have to be absolutely certain you will be able to build a contender QUICK. You cannot afford to waste even one of Giannis' remaining good years... which lets be honest... we have no idea how many of them remain... He's incredibly reliant on physical and athletic traits to dominate. It doesn't take much of a fall off for it to be very consequential to his game.
I mean, if you can trade Flagg for him with (close to) straight up salary, then yeah, you can pretty quickly build a contender with the other pieces the Jazz have.

I still don't think it's that simple. We have maybe... 3-4 winning players on this entire roster. And one of them you probably don't want playing big minutes with Giannis. You have to turn over the entire roster and you never know how that would go. Who will be available... how will they gel?

I personally wouldn't trade Flagg for him.

I outlined this in another thread, but you can easily turn Walker around for a good haul.

The Lakers might be willing to do a Reaves/Walker deal. There's going to be a solid talent in UFA for cheap since so many teams will want to tank.

Yes, you will have to hope for some internal development from players who havent shown to be winning players, but I think it's workable.

Im sure if they pulled the trigger on a Giannis deal, they would have a plan.

I think Giannis will stay with the Bucks. But damn, Giannis-Lauri duo would be a problem. Obviously, as stitches mentioned above, we would need to add experienced supporting pieces in a hurry.
