Alright I will get some crap for this thread but I am just wondering if people are hearing any of the same rumors going around about Heaps that I am. Rumor is that Heaps has been sleeping around with some girls and its likely he will be suspened for the first few games of next season. I have heard lots of people talking about this at work as well my friends and a guy I know that plays for BYU said the team heard it as well but they wont announce the suspension til closer to next season.

Anyway just seeing if people are hearing this as well or maybe its just me.
 
Well that can't possibly be true. I heard from a friend that they take the balls from all byu athletes and put them in a jar until they graduate (some never get them back). On a serious note, it is a good thing he wasn't caught selling autographed stuff to the tattoo parlor. That gets you a serious suspension, like 5 games.

Well the guy I spoke with was a Senior so he was technically on last seasons team. So he might be a little more out of the loop and its not like he confirmed it with a coach or actually Heaps, just heard it from his former teammates. I guess if I am not the only one hearing stuff there might be a little truth to it.
 
It's certainly possible, I'm not saying it's not going to happen. However, I think BYU would announce it as soon as it happened and not wait for the season to draw closer.
 
I'm pretty sure he's not going on a mission so maybe he's feeling it. He hasn't been around the football facilities much lately. Other guys (including other BYU QBs) have been working out a bit and throwing the rock around but Heaps is not there. Maybe he needed a break. I dunno. Maybe he's a putz.

On a related note, it's looking more and more like McCoy Hill will grey shirt and then have a scholarship when he gets back in 2014.

Perhaps you could give us a little more info on McCoy Hill. I've heard you mention him before. Has he given a verbal to BYU? I've checked rivals and scout.com and neither has him listed under their 2011 prospects.

As far as Jake Heaps laying the wood to the ladies, it's nothing new for BYU QB's. McMahon was allowed to do anything and everything he wanted while attending BYU. I shouldn't assume that Jake is the same type of guy or even if he is, I shouldn't assume that he gets the same type of treatment. Maybe Bronco is more concerned with inforcing the Honor Code than Lavell was at the time.

If Jake is running around breaking the HC and Bronco actually has the balls to bench probably the most hyped player in BYU history, then more power to him.

They waited to deal with that other basketball player (Lloyd?) last year until after the NCAA tournament. They buried the stories about Jim McMahon when he was there. They have not always jumped to punish their players in the public until it became necessary. I don't blame them for this, the longer they let it go the less it effects the decisions of other recruits that may look at this and turn away.
 
Wow, I am shocked a 19 year having sex and at BYU no less. Sorry but there are many students who have sex at BYU. Why is this a surprise?

I can't argue over any of this. I may be wrong, but I don't recall Bronco and the football program doing any of that lately though.

The question is not if sports players at BYU sleep around, the question is can they keep from getting caught.
 
Was just reading some recruiting articles on the Trib and found it interesting that BYU is not bringing in any new WR's. I assume the kid from Texas (Apo?) will be back from injury but I thought BYU would be interested in getting Heaps some more help at that position.

1 or 2 injuries in 2011 and that WR unit is not very good at all.

Smart people understand that this rumor is about Heaps possibly getting suspended for some games next season.

No Bronco has played it pretty straight so far. It will be interesting to see what comes out and how he deals with it in this case. However they still should not be in a hurry to bring this to light until spring football starts. Let it stay rumors until the recruiting processes are complete then bring this to light.

I understand what people are saying. I am always surprised when people are shocked about it. Why is it a big deal? and why should people be gossiping about it before they know if it is even true? The smart people I know wait until it is fact before they possible wreck someone reputation will out just cause. Besides if he did it so what? Kids make mistakes so privately "punish" him and then let the kid be a kid.

Your idiot biology major banging some 200 lbs zit girl majoring in family relations is a lot different than Jake Heaps (most hyped player in Football history) banging some of the hottest girls in Utah risking his collegiate career at BYU.
