What's new

Jaren Jackson Jr. traded to the Jazz

Our lineup vs the pacers makes me nervous. Pacers lineup was a were shamelessly tanking. We did not match. I guess when only have 7 players though what do you do. Gonna be hard to lose a lot of upcoming games

I mean, you have to play good players when you only have 7. Pacers played that perfectly. I suspect resting 5 starters is not a tactic they can use again.

No, but you have to factor that in when you assess results. You lost the year either way, and it doesnt matter how great he would have been if you never get to cash in.
Well, your "results" (hindsight on injuries) are useless for evaluating the value of a pick before a draft. And that estimated pick value is what we were talking about here.

How many teams were fined for doing exactly what we did last year? I'm curious as I don't remember it happening to any others. This would indicate they have a special kind of disdain for the Jazz
I recall that at least the Cavaliers ($250,000) and the 76ers ($100,000 ) have been fined this season for violating the league’s Player Participation Policy / injury reporting rules. Could be others too, not sure.

We played 7 players lol

But I agree to an extent. That's the kind of game you need to give Lauri a 28 minutes cap.

JJJ just shared the Jazz’s post about his acquisition on his instagram story.

(Doesn’t seem thrilled but at least he’s done that)

As if he had a ton of options.

The Grizzlies are starting a multiyear tank/rebuild which I presume he doesn't want to be a part of. And it really looks like he had zero market around the league.

Then again, I wouldn't expect a card-carrying member of the Cult of Morant to be happy when you drag them away from their master. Let's hope a new environment will deprogram JJJ.

No what started the exchange between us was you challenging my 50% success rate take, which was a generic sidenote. Regarding next draft I think DP is more like a 75% guy but AJ and Boozer are in that 50/50 bucket.

It wasnt based on any deep dive statistical analysis and was a gut feeling number but Im glad it happened to hold some water.
