It's not a bad thing to me. People can want attention. Because today's society imposes attention as an enormous necessity while individualizing people and making it harder for them to feel other people's care.
I think the right thing to do is tell people that you care about them- in this case tell the poster that you don't want him gone- in the moment they obviously need to hear it. Lending a hand to people will not spoil your badassdom of Mad Max level. no one will call you a ****** for caring for people. Those who do are the ones that need attention and are not brave enough to face it.
