Because it means the Stampede gets their rights if they want to go to the D-League.
It's basically Utah paying these guys 50K up front to join the Stampede. That is what they get for being waived, then an extra 25K (or whatever the D-League salary is).

Turnover rate is 21.5% and turned the ball over a ton in college. So yes, he's turnover prone.
His assist to turnover the past two seasons have been 2.66 and 2.875
His 2.875 last season is a better rate than Lowry, Payton, Wall, Curry, Jackson, Parker, Irving, Thomas, Westbrook Conley and others.

i liked him in college. i don't think he's necessarily a bad shooter but he's always had a rep for awful shot selection.

Just because he gets assists doesn't mean he isn't turnover prone. His turnover percentage is higher than any of those players and he has always been turnover prone. Big knock on him coming out of college. Sorry.

****ty thing about Phil Pressey is he's a worse version of Ish Smith, who got claimed by the Pelicans the other day and dropped 17 points and 9 assists off the bench last night..
You can't put Ish Smith in the D-league though - he's good enough to be on an NBA roster, he's crafty at getting bigs the ball in good position too (just ask Nerlens Noel)
