Jazz's Hornacek said he is interested in becoming Utah assistant but first must sit down with Corbin, O'Connor once things slow down.
@tribjazz:
Sounds like Horny won't come on board until Sunday or Monday at the earliest.
Here's my MAJOR concern in the meantime. If Scott Layden takes up the lead assistant spot (and he's probably the leading canidate ahead of Smitty, Mark McKown and two folding chairs), he not only has to do the in-game charting that Ty usually does, but also carry the dry-erase board AND still be responsible for "holding back" our unruly bench anytime someone commits a hard foul. I'm worried it just might be too much for the man.
I cannot see Mike Brown coming. He's had too much success. He's just waiting out the right offer. But I do hope Corbin brings somebody in whose total focus is the defense. I seriously think we've had less than 5 hours of film study on defense all season. Which means guys are just doing the basics they've learned all their basketball lives.
Damn.You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to billyshelby again.

Horny has said multiple times in the past he doesnt want to be a coach, he likes retirement. He just likes being a able consultant and be with his family. I think the only reason he'd come this year is because its only half a year, and could be a good test to see if he likes it.
Hornacek, a part-time shooting coach for the Jazz, said he has aspired to be a full-time assistant coach when the time is right.
