Jazz jumped 2 spots in the nba powerrankings! number 9 now

https://www.nba.com/2015/news/powerrankings/11/09/week2/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt6f

Pace: 94.1 (30) OffRtg: 99.1 (17) DefRtg: 90.3 (1) NetRtg: +8.8 (2)
Jazz games continue to be rather slow and ugly, but Trey Burke is off to a strong offensive start, scoring in double-figures off the bench in each of the last five games after a scoreless opener. Utah's bench has good passers - Rodney Hood and Joe Ingles - on the wings, so Burke can be more of a scorer than a playmaker in backing up rookie Raul Neto. His usage rate is up, but his assist rate is way down from last season.
This week: @ CLE, @ MIA, @ ORL, @ ATL

and from number 13 to number 11 on the espn power rankings

Playing that stubbornly slow pace and typically sticky D, combined with a fairly favorable early schedule, has the Jazz looking like the tough out most expected. They don't have Gordon Hayward going yet, though, so consider that a priority as Utah undertakes a pretty challenging four-game swing through the East this week.

Warriors defensive rating is only 2 points lower than ours, but they play 10 point higher pace.

Ridiculous.

Interesting note from that article: "Trey Burke is off to a strong offensive start, scoring in double-figures off the bench in each of the last five games after a scoreless opener. Trey is playing more like a combo guard than a PG. Seems to be fitting well with the second unit that way.

Fairly favorable early schedule my eye!!! 8 of the first 10 on the road including 4 likely playoff teams from the East?

Ridiculous.

I agree they are ridiculous.

Not sure I understand your point since pace is irrelevant to the defensive rating. It is based on 100 possession basis.

Generally it's harder to defend with when your team pushes pace.

I'd guess they are ranking based on the 6 games so far and not the next 4.

And I'd say they are correct. Have not played a top team. Schedule strength is 27th based on sagarin.
