What's new

Jazz @ Kings 3/22/12 8PM MT Game Thread

very good win (it was on the road, stop complaining you downers) and LOL @ cousins flop into the basketball hoop in the 4th, face first even.

+Favors continues to play well
+Harris making shots
+Big Al with some big D!

-Settling for bad shots when being 'zoned'
-CJ's newly found defense has gone missing

This event alone made this game great

I want a link for who placed us in LAST place in the CONFERENCE. Please, provide some links.
Amick over at SI not only picked the Jazz for last in the division, he picked them for last in the LEAGUE!

7. Worst record

AMICK: Jazz. Utah lost 17 of its last 25 games after Deron Williams was traded to New Jersey last February, and there's no reason to think that trend won't continue. The continued development of young forward Derrick Favors should help. But as general manager Kevin O'Connor decides whether to trade some of his biggest contracts (power forward Paul Millsap and forward-center Al Jefferson tops among them, after Thursday's trade of Mehmet Okur to New Jersey), the Jazz will struggle mightily.

Here's one from the veteran beat writer for the Bulls. Last in the division.

Liar, liar pants on fire with this one from ESPN. Jazz were predicted to finish NEXT to last ahead of the Wolves

In short, not too many people thought the Jazz would even sniff .500. Be happy, the team is doing better than expected, KOC has Utah in a good position financially, and the Jazz have some assets to further improve the team going forward.

Sounds like he expected us to trade Sap or Jefferson.

Yeah, I'm guessing when Bell gets back he will have the same role as Carrol (minutes wise) but starting.

Pretty much the only thing Bell has over Carrol is a shot...but that has been off since his injury. After that, Bell doesn't rebound like Carrol does...so Carrol gets the edge.

That shot can be pretty important though. Yeah, that is pretty much all Bell has, but it is also the biggest thing the Jazz lack. Bell in February was lights out.

Who's the idiot bitching about this win?

This was a huge win... are you kidding me? We were on the brink of complete confidence and momentum implosion and managed to keep it rolling... very much in the thick of things. Win is a win.

You know how when we lose there's people who still look for the silver lining? It's like the opposite of that with some of you guys... you look for the poo colored lining in any win.

Well put.

Cool. And it's 5th worst in the WC too.

Did you even read my post? WHERE were those shots taken? That was my beef with CJ tonight.

Poor execution and shooting against the zone led to Sactown's fast breaks.

I get it, it was a W. But that's not as important as the WAY you play. Our frontline not getting to the FT line is concerning, how is it not? CJ playing mostly on the perimeter is concerning, how is it not? Lack of execution and shooting in the 4th, how is this not concerning?

I for one expect more. I remember when we missed out on the playoffs during the 03-04 season. The thing is, we were playing the right way. Played hard, executed to the best of our abilities, shared the ball around, and played tough D.

This team is so inconsistent. they play up and down to the level of their competition.

This has got to be one of the most baffling things I've seen posted here. I'll take an actual victory over a moral one any day.

How come nobody complains about Millsap? His defense has become pathetic. He was guarding chandler when he went off on the Jazz. He was guarding Thompson in the 1st quarter when he carried the kings. He was seriously dominating Millsap in the 1st quarter.
