What's new

Jazz @ mavericks

No man. You can't worry about who you are reboudning over as a rebounder. If you are a great rebounder you have the mentality of going after every board. You really can't turn that off/on. It's not like our guards push the ball off rebounds either, so your point is kind of moot.

Solid *** post, Cy. If you've played any basketball in your life you'd understand this. Going up for a rebound you don't look around to see who you're going up against. You just want to grab the damn ball.

We're looking at vs Pacers, vs Thunder, @ Nuggets, vs Lakers, vs Grizzlies in our next 5. We have to win 3 at the very least, I'm feeling 4-1. I think we lose 3 more before all star break.

Not in the current NBA. Teams don't contest offensive rebounds at the beginning of games that allows the guards to get rebounds and push the ball. Rudy needs to be more aware and his team mates need to communicate with him better as for letting him know that they have the rebound. It really isn't a difficult thing especially for high quality nba players.

Note - I'm not saying Rudy should stop going for rebounds, he just needs to stop stealing them from team mates (early in games) when it is clear that they have them under control. Im probably picking the worst time to bring this up given Rudy was huge on the boards down the stretch tonight but watch tomorrow at the beginning of the game and guaranteed their will be a couple of instances where he grabs the board when he could easily leave it for a team mate.

It isn't a big thing but if we want to push the ball more then in order for that to happen our guards need to get more rebounds and that can only happen if Rudy isn't taking them all.

Joe Johnson's presence of mind was incredible. He was in the lane for the rebound, but as soon as he saw it went long and Rudy had it, he went straight for the three-point line, zero hesitation. And that shot was never going to miss.
He's really finding his way in this team. He's bailed us out of so many short clock situations. I'd almost rather see the ball in his hands then anyone else's in the clutch.
Want to rep you. . . but no good luck girl. I'm thinking that we're pretty lucky that Rudy Gobert is a ******* monster.

I chose to look at my bombshell of a wife, and I sure as hell wasnt going to share her with the rest of u turds. Lol.

My blood is still hot after that game. It's rare that I'm angry after a win but holy **** Kane Fitzgerald.

Tony Jones put it best:

I can't hold back any longer. Kane Fitzgerald is by far the worst official I've ever seen. Completely inconsistent. What's a foul with him?
The Dirk Nowitzski blow to Hayward's head has got to be the worst no call I've seen in years.

How the ref missed the lane violation during Gobert free throw was just inexcusable. It was so blatant, that the only way the ref misses it is if he's not paying any damned attention if u ask me.

Last time a Jazz man had a 25-25 game, it was also against the Mavs. Extra points to anyone who can name that man without looking it up.

Carlos Boozer? I remember a few of his 20-20 games not sure if he ever got to 25 boards in one of them though.

Rudy altered so many D-Will layups to kickouts that I think it is the major game changer stat among the other usual stuff.

That was not a life on the road officiated game. That was a Donaghyesc, officiated game. May have been top five most biased ref jobs I've ever witnessed.

Cuban effect? Evidently refs are intimidated
Calling mavs games due to his influence
On them. Wojo has released articles on it

I watched Mavs' last few games and these guys are playing as hard as anyone in the league.
Around his time of the year when NBA players don't give much ****, Mavs can win some games and they actually are ala PHI. Coming into this game I'd not be suprised if got the W against us.

They indeed fought hard till the end and it's kind of impressive we managed to beat them.
Another huge shot by JJ.

5Ws in a row now, let's see how our players will handle it. Normally when on a roll and particularly taking on weaker sides we tend to relax much. Hopefully we'll cure this mental struggle along the way, extend our winning streak vs IND, OKC, DEN, LAL and pound some of these teams while doing it.

Yes it was bad but refs hardly ever call lane violations. I see ones as bad almost every game. It used to bother me but now I've stopped caring.
