Jazz trade for Niang

Jazz finished last season with a veteran bench of Sexton, Clarkson, Springer, Juzang, and Collins.

They swapped that out for Anderson, Niang, Love and Nurkic.

That is about 50 million is expiring contracts. That would be great to convert some of these into assets. Maybe bring in a player like Grimes, kuminga, or Giddey.

Just thinking out loud.

The nice thing is, nobody cares if any of those guys barely play this year. I don’t see any of them contributing to winning basketball in the near term. The fact that they can all ride pine and then expire and open up $50 million for a single high-end player (via trade or free agency) is interesting.

I think it was at best a high second round pick. When the Jazz still had two second round picks he was mentioned as a possibility for the higher of those picks by some draft guru.

So we already know Love's days are numbered but it made me wonder if Anderson just got replaced as the vet locker room guy.
