Jazz will try Burks at the point during summer league

My fantasy Jazz starting lineup is:

1 Burks
2 Hayward
3 Millsap
4 Favors
5 Kanter

Except that is probably all it is... a fantasy. I don't know if would work at all, but I'd like to see it tried. Try it against the total scrub teams! (which I guess would do little to prove anything, but I JUST WANNA SEE IT. That's all.)

Not enough shooting keep defenses honest. I think that lineup would struggle some defensively also. I think Millsap can play some 3 and Burks can play some 1 sometimes, but it's not their natural positions.

Burks should be able to run the offense in small doses just like Harden does for OKC. If Burks can do that then his value has just changed.

It will probably help to have an actual offseason and training camp. He disappointed at the point last season, but I'm withholding judgement for now.

He did! In very limited minutes early on. May have only been preseason. I can't recall.

he did play during the season, but it was only one game i think. it did not go well at all. but that doesn't mean he can't learn to be an effective initiator ala Harden as some were saying. i think it is a great idea for him to get comfortable doing so, because he is a good passer.

YEah, I posted the link above. It was a game where Harris and Watson both got hurt.

Yeah, the Golden State game. I remember thinking he could play some backup PG minutes until I saw that one.

That is one game though. He had no idea he was going to have to do that and was a sudden situation. I think the Jazz testing him in SL is a sign they think he has the ability to do it.

Yeah, he was REALLY bad! Like I said though, I am withholding judgement. I really like this idea. I hope it works out better than when the Grizzlies tried it with OJ Mayo.
