As a reminder for everyone, here is a summary of the Jazzfanz Forum Rules. Find the complete rules here: https://jazzfanz.com/faq.php

BASIC RULES

As was stated when you signed up for a Jazzfanz account, you have agreed to “not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.” Those are the Basic Rules. If you violate the Basic Rules, you have violated the terms of your membership and Jazzfanz has the right to suspend or ban your account after even a single violation.

Normal Moderation Procedures
Infractions: ...In general, when the rules are broken, the moderators will issue an official "infraction" to the offending party, with a corresponding "infraction point". An official infraction requires a “yes” vote from three moderators/administrators... (If the offense is deemed less serious, a "warning" with no infraction points may be issued instead.)

Suspensions: Typically you are permitted only two infractions in a 180 day period. Upon the third infraction, you will serve a 7 day suspension. Upon the fourth infraction, you will serve a 14 day suspension.

Bans: If you get a fifth infraction in a 180 period, you will receive a permanent ban. If you are banned, you will not be reinstated. This includes your original account and any additional accounts you may create.

ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE

Respect: Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated.

Appropriate Content: Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated. Excessive or graphic sexual innuendo will not be tolerated. Profanity is typically automatically filtered out; circumventing the automatic filter via e.g. creative misspelling will not be tolerated.

Avatars/signatures: Avatars and signatures are a privilege, not a right. If you choose an inappropriate image to use as an avatar or in a signature (as decided by three moderators/administrators), you will receive an official infraction. If your signature affects the readability of the forum, you will receive a request to change it...

Multiple accounts: Multiple accounts per user are not permitted.

Trolling: Deliberate attempts to disrupt the usability of the boards will be considered trolling. These include (but are not limited to) comments made solely to provoke reactions, bizarre formatting of posts, extremely large images, many new threads started right after each other, signing a negative rep comment with someone else's name, etc....

Spamming: Accounts set up primarily to post advertising notices, whether or not the items for sale or services offered are related to the Jazz or basketball, will be considered spam. The offending posts will be removed and the user who posted the notices will be issued infractions...

Hot topics: Keep in mind that certain types of discussions tend to provoke strong reactions. These include topics involving race, religion, politics, homosexuality, abortion, etc. These topics can be discussed as long as they are done so without trolling or belittling others. Please take special care in such discussions to not disparage the opinions of others.

Ignore feature: If someone's posts really bother you, you are invited to place them on an "ignore list" so that their posts will become invisible to you. That is done via Forum Actions -> General Settings -> Edit Ignore List.

Back-seat Moderators: If members note a possible problem, they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a moderator or administrator via a private message. However, members are asked to not act as "back-seat moderators"; please do not make moderation-related comments in board threads. Members who consistently "act" as moderators may receive infractions.

Unfair Moderator: If a user ever feels he/she is being treated unfairly by a moderator, he/she may contact the JazzFanz.com administrators.

Arguing with Moderators: Vehement arguing or abusive comments directed at moderators after having received an infraction may lead to an immediate additional infraction.

Websites with restricted access: The posting of links that are designed to circumvent access restrictions to content-providing websites is forbidden. Members may not post or make available on jazzfanz.com any material protected by copyright and subject to access restrictions. The posting of entire articles, or significant portions of such articles, that are within restricted areas is prohibited...
