I third the podcast mention. I would be willing to help out. Prolly not a dedicated cohost. But it would def help my podcast listening. We could do twice a week podcasts to if there were enough interested parties.
I think it's a fun idea to try, sure. I have no skillz in doing any of that stuff though. Could use the chat room like they do on TWiT as well. I suppose we could go ghetto for now and get some people on Skype and record it short-term...
I listen a lot of podcasts and I have tried a bunch of different basketball ones. Most of them are terrible.
I admit hearing the opinions of some of the posters on the board would be very interesting.
I live in Houston and doubt I would much time to commit to project like this but there needs to be some kind of agreement what the goal of the podcast is.
If we want to have a jazzfanz google hangout or something that would be fun.
Or if we are trying to put out a podcast that gets large listener numbers and puts a few jazzfanz members' names out there? In it just for the media credentials?
Also format wise are looking at 2-3 co-hosts to carry the show? Or do we want to the podcast thing and have several guests call in?
It's something that is needed, an independent voice for the Jazz. All of the current broadcasting personalities are company men and usually not at all enjoyable to listen to.
Why do people still watch cable news or listen to talk radio? They are filled with idiots and nonsense. And have you watched ESPN at all lately? It's not how well-informed or intelligent your opinions are, but how confidently you express them that attracts viewers or listeners.
