Can we say that DL and Quin pi$$ed in the chile when they cut Jonas and kept whomever? He saved the Warriors hide last game vs Dallas scoring over 20 points.

Well, essentially we kept Niang and let Jerebko go. If Jonas was still on this team, he probably wouldn't get any playing time. He would probably take Thabo's minutes, which would be good, but he wouldn't play as much as he is in Oakland.
Who knows, mabey he wanted out because he wasnt getting playing time. Sometimes it's both sides who wants to leave, who knows.

They kept Niang because they thought he had more upside moving forward. We shall see how that works out long term. Short term, it would've been a no-brainer to keep Jonas. He definitely is the superior player at this stage. Also, he seemed to be in Quinn's doghouse, as I thought he should've played more last year, which also might've been a factor.

I suspect that Niang could have been signed to a two-way deal. After the season Jonas, Thabo's and Ekpe's contracts would be all done. Maybe Niang will be the savior. I kind of doubt it.

Niang has potential but slim chances he ever becomes a regular solid rotation player. I see him as one of those guys who is basically a practice player. High iq and he is white so it a no brainer I could see him on the Jazz for 8 years and always be the 11,12,13th guy on the bench. It's good when your practice players have high bball iqs.
