Josh Howard out for season!!

I think all you folks voicing this sentiment can just hop down off that high horse. Nobody is glad he's injured. They are simply happy someone else gets an opportunity. Nobody really wants Bell injured either, they just want him out of the rotation. And they only want that because they want someone else in the rotation.

Did they express it without much tact? Sure. But, the over-reaction to a bit of a lack of tact could come to a stop now.

go back and read the thread buddy and if you're still ok with people talking about their own team's players like that than fair enough, i can't help you.

high horse has nothing to with it.
if we want to talk about rotation changes, let's do it.

i'd expect to see a few more minutes for carroll, burks and evans, but get the feeling that cj is likely to gain more minutes than any of those guys.
could create a dilemna for management if he puts up good numbers between now and end of the year or improves his consistency on the road.

I never want to hear that a player is injured let alone one of our own. (That is like hoping that the veteran warehouse employee has a stack of boxes fall on him so that the up and coming young guy can finally get some time on the forklift)

I hope Josh can recover and possible come back next season with a veteran bench roll like Watson has. If he is coming back as a 20+ minute per game guy no thanks but all teams need solid veteran play to really win.

Its really sweet how everyone is saying that no one should be happy that he is injured, but come on, comparing this situation to a forklift driver in a warehouse?

He will be ok. He has the best doctors working on him, the best physical therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, and he can play again if he works hard and rehabs.... his career is not over if he doesn't want it to be..... Oh and he has made millions of dollars.

If this happened to me then i would be totally screwed. I would probably lose my job, house, and wife and get on unemployment or something.

I have been wanting to see more burks all year. If this is what it takes, then so be it.
Would I prefer that burks and hayward would just get the majority of the minutes with no injuries? Sure i would, but i dont think it would happen without an injury like this.... So i am happy...... And Josh Howard will be just fine if he chooses to be.

Being glad that any player is injured is classless. It doesn't matter how they perform. You can be excited to see more of Burks but still show some humanity when a player gets hurt.

No one is on their high horse. It seems like you are trying to rationalize comments that stated they were happy he was hurt.

My question is, with Bell out and Howard out for the rest of the season, who gets the start @ SG/SF? Will it be Burks/Miles, Burks/Hayward, or Miles/Hayward? My vote goes to Burks/Hayward but I know that's not going to happen.

I would guess that we see a depth chart that looks something like this:

PG: Devin Harris, Jamaal Tinsley, Earl Watson
SG: C.J. Miles, Alec Burks, Raja Bell
SF: Gordon Hayward, Jeremy Evans
PF: Paul Millsap, Derrick Favors
C: Al Jefferson, Enes Kanter

Howard's physical defense will be missed. Wish him a speedy recovery!
Hopefully the youngens will begin step up on a consistant basis.

Maybe it's already been mentioned.
If Jazz knew Howard was hurt this bad maybe that's why they didn't
try too hard to make a trade.

I'd love to see Jeremy used as a SF, but his ball-handling skills apparently are less than ideal. Carroll may get some time, but I'm betting it won't be much...It'll likely mean larger doses of CJ at both SF and SG, Burks as a b/u at SG. If Burks is 'hot', I hope they leave him in! Hayward will also get more PT, I'd think.

I would like to see Carrol and CJ start. I like Burks and Hayward playing with Favors and Kanter.

Sorry to see someone get hurt. Howard was a professional and sounds like a good locker room guy. Very sorry to read people cheering about this loss. A man is hurt people.

I hope the other guys can step up and replace Howard's D.
