Whats impressive is hes a right hand guy and he dunked using his left
The first time I saw a highlight video of Williams I thought he was left handed due to how often he was finishing with his left. Didn't know he was right handed until he took his first outside jumpshot

Closer to what?

I’m not sure he has an iso game unless he surges up his handle, it’s not good. It even looked loose on a straight line drive where he tried to go around someone on a failed drive attempt he had to abort because the ball didn’t go with him. I’m not criticizing him, but I don’t see him being the star player everyone else sees. I see 3&D slasher. Those are the things he seems to excel at.

I see him as a guy who will score 15-18 a game play great defense and shoot a good %, and be a guy that takes his opportunities to slash and finish. This by the way excites me. We’ve never had this in a wing for as long as I can remember. Maybe he makes 1-2 allstar appearances like Gordon Hayward.

Don’t go brandishing me as a hater because I’m not I like his game. I just don’t see what you guys see. His handles are fairly weak.
He has really good handles. Watch a college highlight video if you want evidence

Through the first 4 games (not solely on these 4 games) I would rank our young players:

  1. Keyonte
  2. Cody Williams
  3. Walker Kessler
  4. Taylor Hendricks
  5. Filipowski
  6. Collier
  7. Bazley
  8. Lofton
  9. Sensabaugh
Good ranking. I probably flip Collier and flip though.

Sexton is not a pg
He is. Best one on our roster.
He was different last year. Over 2 assists per game better than any season of his career. Low turnovers as well.
Amazing efficiency as well.

They aren't going to start Walker and Collins together
Agreed. I think Collins starts and Kessler comes off the bench

The jumper did not fall last night/had some cringy moments off the dribble, but it was another "wow this guy is gonna make a ton of money" performance by Hendricks. I think his perimeter defense and lateral movement looked good. He's not going to be an A+ rim protector or on ball stopper, but he's going to be a B+ or A- at every defensive role and that's super valuable.
This.
I also think he will have more improvement than most players. No data or evidence or reason for this feeling though. Mostly just homerish optimism

I hope Bazley makes the team btw. He kinda sucks at basketball but he's a great athlete with 11/10 effort level. I would like to see him rewarded and use that as an example for the young players. Cody/Hendricks would see massive improvements to their games by dialing up their intensity.
Agreed.
He seems like he would be a really good "culture" guy

I have. That’s where I initially got the idea that he’s not a great ball handler, for college yes pros no. There was the one play where he did a jab step that threw his balance off which allowed him to get to the hoop for a dunk. And a few fast break opportunities. But other than that whenever he got the ball in half court situations he gave up his dribble when he didn’t have to. There was another time where he tried a straight line dribble drive where he tried to speed around a defender but had to give it up as he couldn’t keep his dribble. He’s just not that skilled with the ball in hand.

He was trying a bunch of new stuff off of the dribble, I did like that he was actually a bit successful with some of it. He's played 4 games in 6 nights, that three point percentage is going to fall.

I'd like to see him get the "Go shut that guy down!" order on someone.

I agree but I still think that, a) he gets traded, or b) Collier ends up beating him out. Collier has very busy hands and plays better defense imho.

I make fun of Cody for being ghostly a lot, but to his credit he rarely makes mistakes. Decision making has been solid all through SL.
Yep, that's the most consistent part of his game... and it's a good thing to have consistently in your bag. IMO it will give him some opportunities to play even though his body is probably not ready.
I'd like for Hendricks to be best player on the floor right now.
Hendricks does a lot of support/effort type of things really well, especially on defense, and he does a lot of basketball things at really low level. It's kind of weird to watch him in this type of environment because he's supposed to be one of our best players, but at the same time this is an environment where some of the things he struggles with get emphasized. I kind of feel like he will be much more at home with the A team, where he wouldn't be relied to handle the ball, make decisions, etc. And at the same time, it's kind of sad that a lot of the hopes I had that he might be able in time to develop some on-ball game, are not looking good so far.
The question is does Cody start over Hendricks
This is an interesting question. Hardy doesn't gift minutes and playing time even to highly drafted players. In that sense, I believe Hendricks may start over Cody initially. But Cody just looks like a player coaches will love. He makes good decisions, he gives effort on D and doesn't overextend himself on offense, he does all the right things. I think by the end of the year he might be starting. Or... what if we start both of them?

I agree but I feel like those things are true for Hendricks as well, both seem like players that coaches love to slot in, they don't have a Kesslers poutiness or desire to shoot shots outside their game.

I could definitely see both starting in Lauri injury games

Hendricks definitely has a desire to dribble which is his equivalent to Walker shooting 3s
