Just met Greg Miller, some interesting things

I work at a place that Greg Miller just came to, it was a stop for a charity miller motor car fast pass thing in northern Utah. Anyways, my cousins and I went up to him and his wife to say hello and thanks for signing off on Al Jefferson. We mentioned that one that one of my cousins (who was present) was a Bulls fans, Greg followed that up by saying, "thanks for taking the Jazz leftovers this offseason. Say hello to Kyle and Carlos for me." We then told him we were very worried about where the jazz were after Carlos and Kyle left and he said that the Jazz try to keep things quite unlike other teams (typical 1320 interview stuff) and also they want to be fiscally responsible but spend the money, he then referenced the Lakers spending over 90 million (then said "no wonder they won the championship) then referenced the Cavs and spending 80 millions and losing early so there isn't a gauruntee that spending leads to winning. Then he said that Kevin has been working hard and making a lot of calls to solidify our back up 4 positions and it will be locked down in the next 3-6 weeks. We then mentioned how we are excited that Al is on the team and replaing Boozer, my bulls fan cousin said he wasn't very excited to have boozer and then Greg Millers wife said, "you will like him for the first of four years". Greg didn't say anything to that or even make a facial expression after it.

I'm sure there will be a few "best buy" comments, but whatever, they were incredibly nice and very willing to talk about the jazz.

Ok, so KOC is working on a backup PF spot. Must not be planning on using AK there too much. And must not be too concerned with the backup PG spot.

so who is he looking at for backup PF? I think AK's great at backup PF but whatever.

So do we conclude Jefferson will start at C and Okur backs him up rest of year? Millsap starts at PF and needs a backup?

Interesting; thanks for posting!
I expect once Fes puts pen to paper, Miller will have a better idea who to sign based on how much $$$ any available 4's want.

You should have asked him if continuing to spend 17 mil on Kirilenko for fourth year in a row, while refusing a couple of trades along the way, was a part of being "fiscally responsible" too. Interesting how the SLC media never addresses this issue with Greg Miller or the front office. Talk about getting a free pass.

wth? If you mention bestbuy, we cant make the jokes as effectively. Come on now, throw us a bone.

Back-up 4 huh? His timeline is quick too. I looked, but couldn't find a current list of FA's who might fit.

I thought the OP (Mic) meant KOC was working on the remaining 4 players, not looking for a backup PF.

From what I gathered he was talking about the backup 4. Sorry about the 4s but I was posting from my iPhone and I made a lot of dumb typing mistakes.

I regret not asking further questions about the back up 4, because if wr get a legit backup then that means AK will be our 3 and cj will switch between backup 2 and 3. I assumed AK would be the backup 4, but I guess possibly not.

AK just not strong enough to play a lot of 4 in the nba. Some teams he is ok, but he gets overpowered a lot at the 4 position. Of course if Memo is healthy and we sign Fes seems like we only need a 3rd string backup at the 4 with Millsap, Jefferson, and AK to play a little 4.

If they actually got a back up 4 and had CJ and AK running at the 2-3 we could have a fairly big line up. Could be interesting to see how they get.

and it will be locked down in the next 3-6 weeks.
Considering that training camp starts in about 7 weeks (I don't know what day this year) it would be good to have this position filled closer to 3 weeks than 6.
