Here is how I see the Jazz players roles.
Trey - He needs to be a ball mover. Ball is sticking too much with him last year and during SL.
Exum - He needs to be the distributor. After two games, I'm convinced he has better vision than Trey.
Hayward - He needs to be a ball mover and a pick 'n roll guy with Favors and Kanter. Still don't understand why Ty didn't run that more.
Burks - He needs to bring energy off the bench and score on drives. Quin is gonna demand defense from him.
Hood - He needs to be our bench shooter to stretch the D on the other team.
Kanter - He needs to learn defense. His defense at the current pace will get him out of the league. I worry about him trying to be a stretch 4. Offense isn't your problem.
Favors - Rim protector and he needs to be the finisher on the pick 'n roll.
Gobert - His role is to protect the rim and block as many shots as he can without getting into foul trouble.
Novak - Needs to get in amazing shape so he can move his 31+ body to get open threes.
Booker - He needs to bang the boards, play defense and shoot his short little jumper.
