What will it look like? How long will it take to flip Westbrook?
I'm not sure I understand the logic of buying him out now. I mean, if his salary is going to count against the cap anyway, why not John Wall him home and see if a team that thought they were going to be better than they are wants to flip a pick and player for salary cap room next FA season. We are not going to flip Westbrook we are going to buy him out.
Bogey is all but guaranteed to be included. Likely Beasley and maybe Clarkson as well.
At this point, I’m down for whatever DA wants to do. I’m never going to question him again. The guy has carte blanche as far as I’m concerned.I'm not sure I understand the logic of buying him out now. Good point to consider. Hopefully they can get a few million back in a buyout of Westbrook for some breathing room too.We are 1.7M under the luxury tax.
The deal is probably Bogey/Beasley/Clarkson for Westbrook plus picks. That shaves 1.3M off of our salary and puts us at 15 players.
This might be a stretch, but I’d try to dump Rudy Gay in there as well to create even more breathing room.Good point to consider. Hopefully they can get a few million back in a buyout of Westbrook for some breathing room too.
Buy him out and just make him give back what would be a minimum contract value… he can pick his next destinationThis might be a stretch, but I’d try to dump Rudy Gay in there as well to create even more breathing room.

Whatever they want (besides Lebron/AD)
for
Whatever we want (of their draft assets)
That's my proposal. The more specific reasoning here is that the Lakers could go a lot of different ways with their preferences. So just let them go wild. But for a price.
If we want the picks then be serious about it. Not like the Jazz won't save money in future years or have other opportunities to shed some salary this year. Hell, they could hold Westbrook hostage and ask that he take a buyout the size of the amount the Jazz are over the LT.3-for-1 is what it will be. Essentially let them pick the three players they want without making us go into the luxury tax. It would likely be some combination of Bogey/Conley/Beasley/Clarkson.
Interestingly enough, I just checked and Bogey/Conley/Vanderbilt is around 500k short of matching Westbrook’s salary.
