What's new

Lindsey is a far more wasteful GM than ppl want to admit. It's time for a change.

That really can't be stressed enough. No GM can entirely draft a championship roster - no one is that good. The fact DL won 48 and 51 games back to back on a totally hand drafted, home grown roster, with not one star FA signing, is a great accomplishment.
I'm sorry but I disagree vehemently. I also believe that your standards are kinda pitifully low.. There's big $$$ on the line here. **** mediocrity.

I'm just happy that DL didn't max Harrison Barnes.

Well lets all celebrate the $$$ ownership has saved... HOO--------RAY!!!

We're not any good but at least we're frugal!

The plans I used to outline were unrealistic because involved running up the cap to the limit to truly go for it. Instead there was a truncated effort, and now SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!! truncated results...

No damage?!?!? Wait a second. If Utah fizzles out this year and finished 10th in the west, that will reflect quite poorly on incoming free agents... Thats really just the tip of the iceberg..

In the NBA if your not getting better, you're getting worse, it's very true not just some bs announcers throw around.
This is a huge concern for me. We should be auditioning for free agents but who tf would want to join this mess. If this continues, take a coat hanger too it and start over.

our Gm in these years has spent 5 first pick to take playmaker and the result is that we do not have a good play roster, excluding Ingles there is not a real shooter .. In the past had offered 88 million to Hill, a real scandal .. it is too conservative, the best FA brought to Salt Lake was JJ who was 33 years old ... we are not appealing for in FA? ok, so why is not it braver with Trade anymore? Lindsey is not scarce, it's decent .. certainly not as super as many believe ..

This guy waived Derrick Rose.....

DERRICK ROSE IS SHOOTING 48% from 3 this season..

****drops the mic****

( used to always suggest taking a flier on FORMER MVP Derrick Rose here, and people always HATED it...)

Oh cmon you can't blame DL for this. Rose was traded to the Jazz with the knowledge that he would be waived so he could choose his own team, just like Joe Johnson to the Kings. Rose would have been pissed if he wasn't waived.

Team full of glue guy types and a future Go to guy. Mitchell is to young to lead a team at this point. Jazz a are much better tanking and building via the draft. They will never be a free agents destination.

Ultimately, the Jazz operate within this trust now. Which means DL is going to need a very direct 'okay' from Gail and whoever else is on the board to dig into the luxury tax. This means digging into other LHM assets. Trust me, last time they went into the tax, the team had to borrow heavily against the other businesses and it's something ownership is very hesitant to do as it messes with the entirety of their financial model.

They need more revenue and they've made a push to install more boxes and club seating with this renovation. Look around at most other modern arenas. They're sitting on 2-3 levels of club suites and Vivint still only has one. The Jazz are shoving people into every little corner in that arena and who knows if it'll be enough? The Silicon Slopes region is generating more cash, yes. Getting that money into the team seems to be a priority.

Financially? The Jazz are still stuck. It'll take a year or two of WCF appearances before they even consider the tax IMO. So, not only are stars hesitant to come here, we're not willing to spend like other teams might be able to when they get their claws into a star or two.

Yeah well Fox was drafted before our pick came in. Mitchell's future greatness will depend on his shooting.

Holding on to and catering to Hayward was pure victim mentality. This organization has to get over that mountain at some point.
Get over the mountain at some point? I
there has been baseball teams playing hundred years that have never won a chip. Bball you aware h ow many teams have zero chips?

You quit being a Jazz fan in 2017?

You haven't been missed.
Yeah, I thought Utah had a chance to be a rose that grew from the concrete, but way before It blossomed Lindsey pruned the **** out of it and killed it... once I realized the parallels between how (most, not all) "hardcore" Jazz fans defended Hayward's every action(looking at you Cy!)and "hardcore" Knicks fans who defended Carmelo (in the early melo knicks days).. As that became more apparent I knew it was time. The George Hill trade was also one of the final signals. The logic I presented the very day of that trade, which people lined up to jeer, was in fact sound....

The outrageous front office follies of the early 2000's Knicks were in part due to turning draft picks into older vet reclamation projects. Hill and Rubio are in that vein.

I hated that people felt cornered by Hayward, like we have no better choice, thats nonsense and this franchise was held hostage, by someone who dropped them like a sack of potatoes to seek greener pastures.

I genuinely didn't enjoy my interactions with Jazz fans either, which was the main reason I stopped rooting for the Knicks. Too often this place is the epitome of "Talk sense to a fool and they call you foolish"... Older I get this behavior is obviously everywhere, being a Jazzfanz helped me gain that perspective, and for that I'm thankful and it was all worth it. No regrets.
