Locke interviews Hayward

I have no problem with Hayward coming back, just at the right price. We can't pay a guy $12 million to be third banana on the team.

Pretty funny, even if I disagree and see him making you eat crow when he's put back into his traditional role.

I'd love for him to make me eat crow, especially on our team. I just don't see it happening.

Although, I'll give everyone a second chance under a new coach/system. I still don't think Hayward is that special. Ok player, ok personality, great gf.

So you betting on Jazz massively overpaying? That would be worse than AK's contract to be honest. I doubt Lindsey is that stupid.

Right because 17 million a year over 7 years of crying is far better then a guy putting up respectable numbers for 4 year at 13-14 million. That's sound logic there.

If you want to talk logic you should get your facts straight. AK was never paid 17mil a year for 7 years. Plus AK was All-star. What did Hayward do to deserve 14 min a year?
Lindsey is not stupid. If he matches anything close to 14mil/year for Hayward I promise to leave this site and not post anymore. Self ban - that's it.

Hayward's value I put at maybe 7 million. Maybe someone will pay him more, maybe the Jazz will match, but it has to be within reason. If some GM is stupid enough to give Hayward upwards of 12M then that's their mistake. It'd be nice to flip him for an asset, since then he doesn't just walk for nothing in return, but I don't think the Jazz do lose much not having Hayward on the team. Meh is right.

this podcast was awful. locke is so tedious, hayward is so vanilla. there was nothing of interest. why bother interviewing somebody about how a trip is going when they're one day into it? ugh

The 6:00 mark is when the "interesting" stuff starts (stuff about Corbin and the team). It promptly ends about 2 minutes later and Locke gets back to name dropping.

A somewhat interesting interview. Only three tidbits to mention that I noticed:

1. Hayward is happy Corbin is gone but trying to be respectful

2. Hayward also seems to be hesitant to referring to himself as still part of the Jazz

3. Locke is like an annoying/desperate school boy who wants Hayward to be his BFF.

I listened to the interview and these inferences that Beanbro got, I did not get. I think it's a stretch to be honest.

How about I stretch your face with my fist?

Hayward is obviously doing what his agent tells him. And that is show 100% indifference in returning to lure potential bidders. Millsap acted exactly the same before Portland intoxicated us with that offer sheet several years ago.
