Locke interviews Hayward

I'm still shock somebody compared Hayward at this point to Derozan let alone Curry. Both are much better players. You could argue IMO him being on par with Batum, but Nic is overpaid and honestly I'd take him over Hayward.

It's easy to kick a guy when he's down.
I'd gladly take 44%/37% (his career avgs), which I think he gets back to - at the very least - under a new regime. Rebounds, steals and assists were all up this year; it was only his shooting that took a dive. He was just trying, and being asked, to do too much. Put him in an situation next year where the ball still goes to him a lot, but he's not asked to create plays every time. AK, early in his career, had a lot of success with that type of role.

Nobody was comparing the players, only the salaries. Salaries are similar.

Which means that if Curry and Derozan are making around 12M's a year wouldn't that be overpaying Hayward? It illogical to use superior players making the same money as a reason to justify giving Gordon the money.

Steph Curry is highly underpaid. His contract is the best in the league. The only reason it is so low is because of injury risk. He wanted to lock up the money and GSW didn't want to pay max money to a body cast for several years.

Derozan is making $9.5mm with no raises for 3 years with a 4th year p.o. He's also a highly overrated, inefficient chucker.
