Locker room clean out day the 2014 edition

I see the hatred of vets as hating the symptoms of a disease. It is not the vets fault that they play so much. I agree that some vets are needed on the team.

It just seems that you are much angrier lately Thee Jazz Fan. Stop letting them get to you.

That's because jazzfanz isn't what it used to be. The idiots are infecting everything.

I can understand that. But why not work to make it better. You are not the first to voice that opinion btw.

But it's all good. Stick around because you make the board better.

From these interviews, we see what most of Jazz fans wanted was completely accurate.

That was exactly what I thought as well.

It's like, Kanter has an account in here named Sexual Favors.

To be honest I am loving what I am hearing. Can see some fire in Kanter, Hayward, Burks and Favors. Burke has been firey all season with his tweets and jabs at the pro tanking crowd.

Good boys. Be pissed about this year, be mad. Feed it all summer long. Hit the weights and court with those thoughts and images in your head. Use that to fuel you to get better and tighter as a group. Come back next year in shape, improved, hungry and with a chip on your shoulder. Time to put some attitude back into the Jazz and the arena.

Now the real work begins.

GO JAZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I were a Jazz player, I would immediately hit the gym after reading this.

Meh. We've been seeing the same comment on this site for 10 years. Probably always been true to a large extent, but also overly dramatic. JF trudges on in spite of it.

because the the trolls and idiots run the damned asylum. It's like toys r us in here. We get some of the dumbest most childishly stupid comments in here that there's less and less to comment on.

I only hope i can be this mature someday

So how are the young guys going to every have chemistry if you keep bringing in veteran guys? So if we bring in a veteran guy how are the young guys going to establish leadership? Jazz have a lot of young talent do just give up on it and bring in retreads or even decent vets. So if the Jazz get either Parker or Wiggins are they going to need to "earn" their minutes while we watch some "vet" put up average numbers. There is no reason to bring in vets until you establish the Core of your team. You don't rebuild in one year. Not if you are going to do this the right way.

The Jazz need to address the coaching
Then the draft
Then sign there own free agents
Then if there is any vet that would compliment the team and strengthen the bench then you make a deal.
Summer league - coach instills new system and then camp they emphasize a more uptempo game and DEFENSE.

I agree with your timeline in terms of the coaching and draft. Yes, those come first. Jazz can't even start negotiating with FA's until July 1. As for our own FA's, those negotiations, especially with Hayward, could extend for quite some time. So you don't just put everything else on hold. And the same with Marvin. He wants to return, but maybe not at what the Jazz may offer (which has to be a pay cut). He may then decide to shop around a bit before deciding Utah is (or is not the best situation).

My second point is that I'm not entirely sure Burks and Kanter should move into the starting lineup. I like Alec coming off the bench (as long as he plays 30 mins). And Enes needs to earn his time with better defense. So if Lindsey can find vets - and I'm not talking RJ-type guys - but if he can find a vet that is starting quality (mid-20's with upside like KOC found in Boozer and Okur), then make an offer. Or maybe the vet replaces Alec as a 6th man.

Jazz need a solid core of 8-9 players for their rotation (3-4 bigs, 3 wings, 2 PG's). I think they have 6 (core-5 + Gobert) and the draft should bring one more. The #23 pick, the early 2nd and Neto may or may not pan out as backups. If they do, and if a FA is signed, then Lindsey has assets to upgrade where needed going forward. Maybe he shops Burke + assets for a better PG. Maybe one of the bigs is moved. Eventually the Jazz need to trade some of their mid-level talent + assets for a potential all-star. Otherwise, Utah treads water as a playoff team but never a contender.

Oh that is so mod of you.

Kidding.

Seriously though, I've never seen so many insults and profanity just because some other guys don't like to see veteran players take playing time in the rotation as starters instead of the much anticipated young talents. What's wrong with desiring to see the lottery picks play together? And seriously, what percentage of those people that unleashed this forum to hell really thinks it's veterans' fault. Concrete example: I always loved RJ and MW since I knew them and love watching'em. RJ since Nets and MW since joining Jazz.

I think The quality of this forum is directly related to the contendership of the team. Only once we make it at least back to the status of the dwill booz teams will the content and posting recover.

So what your saying is we, thanks to John, Karl, Sloan, and D-Will, we have no idea how to handle losing? I'll take it.

So will I. This fanbase demands better, aside form this year, because the Jazz can deliver better.

I had zero problems with RJ and Marv. In fact, RJ was the best Jazz-vet over the last 5 years (or so), and I really think that he probably left a plethora of good advice with some of the young guys.

Also, I definitely want Marv to return. I think that he feels the same, and it makes me glad.
