Well it's an idiom that you say when you contribute to smth in little amount but still have the intention of contributing, helping it reach its goal.

I get it. Truckloads of salt add weight to the tomato paste enough to efficiently raise the profit margin. . . .just like truckloads of little posts can raise the postcount in here. . . .
