Major love from BR power rankings

My gut reaction is that being ranked 4th is high, but part of that is me not getting my hopes up.
But think of it this way...
In the west its clearly GS and SA...but after that it gets kinda questionable
Clips are another year older and despite the talent on the roster there might be chemistry issues...and if anyone gets hurt they are toast
OKC is take a dive, the year without KD they missed the playoffs.
Houston's Defense is gonna be worse with D'antoni as the coach.
Portland might be the only other team that could give us trouble

So in a sense is it all that far fetched to put as the 3rd best team in the west? If we can stay healthy, which is a big if, I can see us easily being top 2 defense.
Add in some vets who can help us score in crunch time and the depth of the western conference power teams dwindling and you got a team that could be looked at as the 4th best team.

I still think it's a bit high, but not all THAT high.
This offseason has been awesome and we are gonna be great next year

Can see 4th in the West as our ceiling. The Clips won 53 games despite Blake Griffin missing 47 games. Other teams had injury problems too.

Yup, Jazz got healthy and DL addressed 2-3 times over every single need this team had. He annihilated this off season.

Vets leadership - check
PG play - check
Bench depth - check
Outside shooting - check
Spacing - check
Jettison dead weight - check
Maintain long term cap flexibility - check
Maintain adequate picks the next several years - check
Maintain chemistry - check

At this point the only two somewhat legit arguments IMO are:

1. DL didn't act last year
2. That he didn't get more/act sooner for some assets/players

Both those are also very debated.

Nice post with one glaring weakness. When you are down 2 with two minutes left, we still don't have "that" guy to go get you a bucket. Joe Johnson is the closest thing we have for that. We do have a lot of pretty good talent, so our two minute offense will have to be a group effort.

We will still struggle in close games next year. We will be better, but I'm not sure we will be 4th (or better) in the west better.

We still need Exum.

Seems like it was our defense that had trouble down the stretch. I remember Hayward, Burks, Hood doing work on offense.

Yep, there you go, dead last in opp pts in clutch per NBA stats.
https://stats.nba.com/league/team/#!/clutch/opponent/?sort=OPP_PTS&dir=1&Season=2015-16&SeasonType=Regular%20Season

23rd offensive rating 103.5
3rd worst defensive rating 121.3 right behind Phoenix and Philly

Edit: so we sucked at both offense and defense in clutch.
