Marc Stein: Jazz-Warriors discuss pre-Lottery trade (Source says trade "likely")

Dal:

1) Detroit jumps to third, Jazz get 8th pick.

Stopping while I'm hot.

EDIT: Tried it one more time, Jazz got the 8th pick again. Boys, Im feeling good.

So for those lottery novices, this is what you want to hear/see tomorrow night: When they start opening the giant envelopes, if they do not go in this order exactly (14-9): Houston, Phx, Bucks, PDX, CHA, DET, then we got a pick. Then obviously if they announce GS at 8 (meaning TOR jumped) we get it.

Gut feeling who gets the Number 1 pick tomorrow?

Forget gut feelings ... I'm going to our Lottery Mock Draft. Will play it once and then predict the lottery ... here we go ...

1. Bobcats2. Cavs3. Raptors So I have Bobcats taking Anthony Davis. Cavs taking Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Raptors taking Brad Beal. There you go. That's my prediction. Oh, and one other thing, that order screws the Warriors ... who now fall to 8th place with the pick going to the Jazz.

From his chat today. This has to be a sign from the future.

Mine:

1) No pick - GSW moved to #3 (I'd just die)
2) No pick
3) No pick
4) No pick
5) No pick

**** this. Make a deal KOC!

Posted this in another thread but thought maybe you guys could help out here...

That said, can someone find out how often a team slotted 8th-14th has jumped into the top 3? Last year Cleveland did with their pick from the Clips. In 2010, it did not happen. From 2009 and before, I can't find the info needed.
