What's new

Game Thread NBA Draft Lottery - May 12, 2025

Next year’s draft?
This reminds me of the time that I had to replace a tire for an AWD vehicle after buying new tires the month before. I wasn't too bummed because I bought the warranty. They wouldn't replace just one tire on an AWD but only the damaged tire was covered by the warranty. They were willing to give me a discount on the other three tires, so nice of them. As I'm checking out the guy tried selling me a warranty for the new tires. The way I looked at that ************ is the way I'm looking at your post.

If they are rigging for the purpose of sports getting, they are doing it wrong. That's all I'm saying. At least give hornets or Washington a top 3 pick. We can stay at 5 or whatever. As a neutral NBA fan in general, this is just a bad look.

Cooper and Harper couldve been the face of the league in 3yr. Now they are stuck on teams that don't really fit them. Spurs already have a starting PG in Fox. Harper either needs to ask for a trade or stand in the corner for the foreseeable future.

And Dallas has zero spacing outside of a washed Klay. Kyrie is out till January the earliest and who knows if he's ever gonna return to form. That means Cooper now has to look for his own shots and force things through a very crowded offense.

This is a disaster on so many level.

Man, what brand were those tyres.. lol.. a month????

The tire didn't wear out, I ran over some **** that damaged my tire.

Fun story. A smarter man than myself had this exact same situation except it was for his 4x4 truck. He clarified with them "so only damaged tires are covered?" They confirmed. He said hold on, I'll be back. He went home, pounded some nails into some 2x4s, drove over it and popped the other 3 tires. Called a tow and had his truck taken to the tire shop. They tried to deny him but at the end of the day he got four new tires covered under the warranty.

Dallas falling completely apart while fans riot and yell "Fire Nico!" on national TV is a bad look for the league. Something needed to be done. The league needs to protect its image and the value of its franchises. That's enough rationale to throw them a bone.
That would be easy enough to say after the fact, but I told my son to bank on it happening 2 months ago. It was going to happen. It happened. Honestly, I love Andy Larsen and respect him, but match the situation with the odds and that is just foul play. Don't care if you saw it. Loaded dice. Slight of hand. Andy, have you ever watched "The prestige"? Watch it again tonight.

How the hell did the spurs and 76ers moved past us as well I may as well give up watching nba games this is rigged to core if it had of been the other way round with Luka going to Dallas then nba would make sure lakers got 1st pick it’s all about tv ratings I hope the nba loses a lot of fans because of this nba do not want Utah to succeed and this proves it

Haha.. a mod had quickly unstickied this thread.

Probably thought it’s better to let this nightmare slip into the nothingness… lol..

The lottery should only be for the bottom five teams
#11 teams should not jump over the five bottom teams
It only happens if the league needs it to, so everything's fine.

How about Andy Larsen then? Who's paying him to be in on it? In addition to all the other dozens of journos in the room. Who see the balls being put in, all balls being drawn and the combinations that come up.
Journalism is dead. Just like any other legacy media. It's always the same talking point doesn't matter who's reporting it. Can you imagine anyone calling them out after walking out of that room? Those are not randomly selected "reporters". You gotta join the club or get cancelled if you don't play their game.

Yeah, what a ****ing disaster landing Flagg. Poor Dallas.

Just curious, when was the last time neither of the worst 3 teams got neither of the first 3 picks?
I alluded to this previously when I expressed doubt about getting the pick after being officially sanctioned by the league. I had mentioned that if all the teams that got official “sanctions” ended up moving back, that it would send a message and stop tanking. I don’t know if anyone else got sanctions but the narrative definitely will move in about it also being a message.

I didn't think the league would go that far. I didn't think the league would conclude the situation in Dallas was so bad that they needed Cooper Flagg.

The only issue i have with this lottery is the Mavs moving up. We were a 50% chance of the 5th pick. Rigged? Nah.

Mavs moving to 1st was a predictable soap box script line. Like a "Days of our lives" ressurect the dead ex-husband and the handsome but provocative lost sailor lover who passed in season 4 to bring back someone popular to get the old school fan base that lost interest in the show.
