Seriously, this is one of the things that are wrong in the world. Of course if someone doesnt like Corbin it MUST be because he is black.
If you just trolled me, good job.

Yep, I got sooooo sick of that when Tubby Smith was coaching UK. If anyone questioned his recruiting, his x's and o's, or ANYTHING, they were just racist hicks. Well, maybe they were, lol, but there was valid reasons to question the coach/coaching.

My prediction is that Corbin will win at least as many championships as Sloan or Frank Layden did.

C'mon, the guy took over a team on zero notice - a team already in free fall and dissension and then had the team's #1 player traded. In come two guys who haven't a clue of the Jazz' offense, including the player who is supposed to run the system. After starting off 27-13, the Jazz went 4-10 (.286) before Sloan quit. They then finished 8-20 (.286) under Corbin. So Tyrone did no worse than the path that Jerry and Deron had already started down, all while integrating new players into the team and getting PT for young rookies in Hayward and Favors.

I seem to remember the Jazz anointing another assistant as their coach many years ago after Frank Layden unexpectedly resigned. Granted, that particular guy had previous experience, but was not a very good head coach if judged by his past record. Corbin was a very highly regarded assistant around the league. There's no doubt he would have gotten a chance somewhere. Naming someone as "interim" coach is as much as saying you don't have confidence he can do the job. Announce that same guy as the head coach later on and you may as well say, "well we were turned down by everyone else, and this is the best we can do - for now. But we'll fire him as soon as the next best alternative comes along." And he won't have much credibility/authority with the players in the meantime.

Who knows if Ty will be successful? But giving him a shot and announcing him as the head coach was absolutely the right thing to do. I'll wait to pass judgement for a couple of years.

Agreed. Corbin is also a form of stability since he has been with the organization for some time. If we just went out and got a big name head coach, he would probably be here for 3-5 years, then move on to a different team. If Corbin actually turns out to be a good coach, he will probably want to stay with the club for a long time.
