What's new

New all star game format

Edit: ****, this solves nothing...

The NBA is so ****ing stupid. They could have made the change to where all stars are picked with no regard to conference. Instead, you'll have the same system with crappy players in the east making it and good players in the west getting snubbed. All this does is make it so the teams are more even.

They could have solved a big problem and instead made dumb changes that have no affect on the bigger issue. Unbelievable.

Awesome like Cappy said because Hayward could struggle to make it now. Edit: **** you, Cappy.

But the game itself will still likely be a joke with no defense.

The way I read it is that there will still be equal # of players from eastern conference and western conference, the only difference being that the captains pick the teams.

Seems that this changes nothing for haywood. The choosing of who is am all star remains the same but configuration of the teams changes.

Am I interpreting it wrong? (I hope so, **** haywood)

There is literally no important change. I wish they would have said each conference gets a minimum of 8 or 10, but no... still 12 and 12 and the loaded western conference will continue to see guys like Dame and Rudy get snubbed.

Nope, I was wrong. Players will still be selected by conference, which means Haywood still has a cake walk. The NBA is unbelievably stupid in that they managed to miss the real issue with an insignificant change.

Rudy won't be snubbed unless he gets injured or if Utah just falls apart IMO. He's earned a ton of respect since being snubbed last year, which is why he made 2nd team all NBA. Both ESPN and SI ranked Rudy as top 15 ahead of Haywood and significantly higher Jordan.

But yeah, stupid change that does nothing to address the real issue.

They should have changed it to picking the best players in the league, regardless of conference. What they did makes absolutely no sense, which is why I assumed they were actually changing the real problem. What a ****ing clown show.

what a stupid change. what's the point? so dumb. we don't care who plays with who. we want the best players in the league. ****ing stupid

This.

And then douchebag Paul and Silver are gonna try to pawn this off on us as if it's some intriguing change. ****ing losers.

Dame probably wouldn't even be a notable snub this year (if everyone stays at the same level).

Gobert
Durant
Curry
Leonard
Westbrook
Davis
Harden
Butler
CP3
Towns
George
Cousins
Draymond
Melo
Thompson
Pachulia
Griffin
Marc Gasol
Jokic
Lillard

At least 8 of those guys will have to miss out

???? It looks like you can have more player from the west this year.

"Captains can choose any player voted to the All-Star Game as a starter or reserve, regardless of conference affiliation.

For example, if LeBron James is one of the captains, he can select Stephen Curry or Draymond Green if they are named to the game."
