Cmon, we all know that KOC won't make a trade when we all think he should.

Kevin O Connor is a tuff guy. He's not going to let some GM get a better deal than him. So he'll battle with other GM's but will ask for too much.

He could just except a 2nd rounded and a nobody expiring for CJ, but he won't.
Instead CJ will walk next year for nothing and so will Josh Howard.

Just more talent walking out the door for nothing.

Why not take something less in return? It's better than nothing. And the Jazz do well with 2nd rounders. They should value them.

Look. I hope he does. I would rather be wrong and have you clowns berate me.
But instead ill have to settle for being right and having you berate me.

AT least you understand that the berating is going to happen either way. Pop a pill and get after'em Blues!

You're most likely wrong. You're going to get berated for nothing.

BluesRocker seems like a bit of a tool, but I think he's right on this one.

I am tool. You gotta pick one though. Id say I'm either a hammer because I bring the hammer down or I'm a screw driver because I'm screwing all the ladies. Next time you are with a girl look on her inner thigh for the initials BR

Obviously, KOC is planning on not trading CJ so he can resign him to another 3-4 year contract.

Meh, I don't want KOC to make bad deals.

So you think its better to have a guy sit on the bench and not contribute anything, and watch him leave the team for nothing next year, than to get a 2nd round pick and an expiring deal?

Let's think about this..... 2nd round pick....no 2nd round pick...2nd round pick...no 2nd round pick.

Geez, you know what. You are right. I can't tell which is better either.

Do you really think KOC is not trying to get a 2nd round pick? This draft is so loaded that I think the value of those picks is being pushed.

Not that this happens, but a bad deal would be like Stephen Jackson for Raja Bell or Raja Bell for Shawn Marion (huge contract, passable player for low contract, passable player).....that's what I mean.
Even the Nets deal with Morrow and Petro is, contract-wise, a nightmare.
CJ's expires this year and Morrow has 2 years, 4 mil while Petro has 2 years 3.25 mil.

But I dunno how this GM stuff works exactly with all the CBA nonsense. I basically don't want to make a horizontal trade that doesn't make us better and I don't want the AK situation to happen again by taking a big contract/s

David Locke: Normal day at shootaround for the Utah Jazz - same starters, nothing out of the ordinary

Jody Genessy: Coach Corbin said Kevin O'Connor would call him about trade. "We aren't planning anything, but you never know what can happen last minute."

Jody Genessy: Funny line from Jazz coach Ty Corbin about players participating in shootaround: "We didn't have anybody sitting out saying don’t get hurt."

Steve Luhm: Jazz will start Devin Harris, Raja Bell, Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap and Josh Howard tonight vs. Suns.

Can we all stop posting in BluesRocker's threads? I know that this personally will be my last one.

Ah yes, trade deadline. The one day of the year when the Jazz fans inevitably morph into Knicks or Lakers fans and rant and rail about the inability of our front office to trade players said fans have been bashing all year long for bona fide stars.

Not that it's a new phenomenon. I remember this happening more than a decade ago, too.

Pete Chilcutt, Adam Keefe and a second round pick for an all-star caliber center. Get it done, Frank!

Yup I clearly see alot of posts wanting all stars and super stars for Bell and Miles...

How could we possibly get anything for those two? Do you not read this forum? CJ Miles is a chucker, he's dumb, he's lazy, he takes ill-advised shots, he plays badly at home and even worse on the road. He doesn't pass, he he doesn't rebound, he can't create for others, etc.

By what stroke of magic do you expect O'Connor to get anything of value for him? How do you convince other teams that they should actually want him when we all think he should just crawl into a corner somewhere and die?

Maybe you are skipping over all the posts that people are saying trade Bell for a TPE of 3 million or the ones wanting a ham sandwich or a soda for Miles. Most of the people just want something/anything for those guys but why let what people are really asking for slow you down.

Preach brother preach! Let me bum a lighter of my coworker...

You still haven't answered my question, and you're trying to knock down straw men here. Why would anyone, at all, want CJ Miles? What team could possibly benefit from having him? If you were a fan of any of the other 29 teams in the league, could you foresee the circumstances in which you would be excited about CJ Miles joining your team?

To be honest I do not follow the other teams but OKC wanted him remember. There is monumental difference between wanting anything at all for Miles and asking for a all star like you are implying. You know damn well no one asked for that.
