I'm still holding out hope. He's our only rookie contract player outside of Kessler who can defend. He actually moves his feet, is generally in the right place, and his length bothers people. If he can add some more strength and start taking contact through his chest he will be a good defender in the league. I think this is likely. If he increases his activity and starts to show some ability to make a difference off ball he'll be a really good defender in the league. I think this is less likely. Now the very unlikely thing is that he is good enough offensively to be on the court and provide defense, but that's the dream.
Offensively he just needs to be a very good wide open 3pt shooter. It very clearly might not happen, but I think he's already made a lot of progress (his misses are much closer this year). I think he'll be able to be a good connective piece, off ball cutter, and attack closeouts at some point if the defense has to respect his shot. That player is a guy that can get minutes on a good team.
