I guess it's a good thing that nobody has to speculate about the CIA being involved in these things anymore, but they've been there for months.
Real estate developer Donald Trump blames President Obama for the rising price of oil, warning, "this country can never, ever recover" if oil prices continue to go up.
"That's really the life's blood of the country," Trump told CNBC in a phone interview on Monday. The Trump Organization chairman, who says he's considering running for president, plans to decide "before June" on the matter.
He contended that Obama is not a leader and is "in bed with these (OPEC) people. He doesn't speak the way you have to speak to them."
After a sincere question at a townhall Obama gives a commercial for Government Motors.
Citizen: "You were talking about the rise of gas prices. I know back in the seventies they were going from our license plates, odd to evens, days we could get gas. I know we're not at that stage right now but they did lower the prices after that. Is there a chance of the gasoline price being lowered again?"
Obama: I'm just gonna be honest with ya. There's not much we can do next week or two weeks from now. (snickers) If you're getting eight miles a gallon you may want to think about a trade-in. You can get a great deal. I -- I promise you GM, or Ford, they're -- or Chrysler, they're -- gonna be happy to give you a deal on -- on something that gets you better gas mileage. Gas prices? They're gonna still fluctuate until we can start making these broader changes, and that's gonna take a couple of years to have serious effect.

Except, he's right.
What "broader changes" is he implementing that are going to bring gas prices down?
I think he was talking about the morons that are driving gas guzzling SUV's. It's going to take some 'broader changes' by the people of the U.S., which will likely take a while.
You have to realize that there are certain individuals that need special accommodations, and the president is one. Whether republican or democrat, you can't honestly think that it is an issue that the president has an armored limo or flies around on Air Force One. I love the environment, but the safety of our government takes priority over the minimal amount of extra pollution created by protecting certain high profile politicians. Where the change needs to come that will make a difference is the rest of us cutting back on our use of fossil fuels. How about the House repubs going out of their way to be able to use styrofoam in the cafeteria again. I think that is a bigger issue, because there is no safety issue here yet they still demand the right to be wasteful.
You can't have it both ways. You want the government to stay out of your business, then are upset when the free market drives gas prices higher.
the Obama administration has stopped new domestic offshore oil exploration in many American waters, curbed oil leases in the West, and keeps oil-rich areas of Alaska exempt from drilling. Last week, President Obama went to Brazil and declared of that country’s new offshore finds: “With the new oil finds off Brazil, President [Dilma] Rousseff has said that Brazil wants to be a major supplier of new stable sources of energy, and I’ve told her that the United States wants to be a major customer, which would be a win-win for both our countries.”
Consider the logic of the president’s Orwellian declaration: The United States in the last two years has restricted oil exploration of the sort Brazil is now rushing to embrace. We have run up more than $4 trillion in consecutive budget deficits during the Obama administration and are near federal insolvency. Therefore, the United States should be happy to borrow more money to purchase the sort of “new stable sources of energy” from Brazil’s offshore wells that we most certainly will not develop off our own coasts.
At a time of trillion-dollar deficits, the administration is borrowing billions to promote high-speed rail, and is heavily invested in the federally subsidized $42,000 Government Motors Chevy Volt. Apparently the common denominator here is a deductive view that high energy prices will force Americans to emulate European centrally planned and state-run transportation.

Goldman: Bail out of Oil. Oil goes down 4%.
Bank of America: Oil is going to 160. Oil climbs back 2.5%.
Yahoo headline: Oil Rebounds to Near $107 on Kuwait Export Halt
This is the rich speculating on our oil and making $$$ off of it.
Look getting off away from our addiction from oil has been a long time need for this country. It wasn't just Obama trying to push us away from our addiction to fossil fuels. Presidents before him have called for reform. Then they get into office and the $$$ start flowing from Lobbiest. I believe that the Obama is trying to reform Health Care and isn't worried about our oil because he isn't having corporations influence his politics.
Yet here we sit with oil going through the roof and we really don't have a feasible alternative. Do we?
I am as much for getting rid of our addiction on foreign oil as the next guy but what is the alternative that we can implement today? From everything I have read, solar, wind and other green energies are just not there yet. Yet here we sit with oil going through the roof and we really don't have a feasible alternative. Do we?
