What's new

Official UofU homer thread

The Big 12 has been big time disrespected by the committee. Two one loss teams ahead of an undefeated Big 12 team? ha ha.

The PAC-12 comes down to a couple of things:

1 - Stanford HAS to beat Notre Dame. If Stanford beats ND, they jump up into ND's spot. Alabama plays LSU and one team has to lose. That puts ND at #4, and if Stanford wins, it puts Stanford at #4.

2- The champ then has to have one loss. IF Stanford beats ND, they go into the PAC-12 playoff ranked #4. IF Utah wins out, they go into the PAC-12 title game ranked in the top 10. The winner of that game goes to the playoffs.

The point is, the PAC-12 holds their fate in their own hands. If the champ has one loss, they will be in. At the end of the year, a Utah Champ will have played ranked Michigan, USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Cal. That is five teams that were ranked at game time or ranked at the end of the year. And that doesn't include the title game. That means in 13 games, almost half were vs ranked-level teams.

A one loss PAC-12 champ gets in. If Stanford beats ND, it looks like a one loss PAC-12 champ would get in over an undefeated Big 12 team.

I'm not worried. Just win.

I won't say Utah controls their own fate. Because the Big 12 champ COULD win out, LSU COULD win out, etc. I just really don't think they all will. I'm confident we get in if we win out, but we don't control our own fate.

BUT, the Big 12 is ranked behind Notre Dame. That is why I said the biggest game for the PAC-12 is Stanford vs ND. IF Stanford beats ND, Stanford should jump the Big 12 team and into the #5 spot.

Alabama or LSU will lose another game. That means ND goes up to #4.

If Stanford wins out, they would have to be in the playoffs. If Stanford wins until their last game, and Utah wins out, they should take Stanford's spot at #4.

Ranking an undefeated Big 12 team behind teams with losses is HUGE. That is what opens the door for the PAC-12 to get in.

I predict that TCU beats OK St,Baylor loses to OK ST, and than Baylor beats TCU giving them all three losses

Looks like you guys play Miami first. Honestly, I know nothing about either team at this point.

Yeah, no idea about Miami.

State has 3 returning seniors who have been starters for the last 3 years, so we should be good if Newman is legit.

Utes basketball may have a better chance at winning the NCAA tourney than college football championship, soooo deep
