I disagree with this. For example, in the transgender thread I posted a similar stance as you did yet GF was very civil and reasonable with me.

The difference is the tone in your posts, the immaturity (the irony of me saying this,) and the extreme examples and blanket statements you made. Your posts warranted a certain reaction. When you got the reaction you knew you were going to get, you resorted to name calling and being a dick.

Granted, OB can be annoying as hell to respond to and his question responses to questions is a hell of an annoying tactic - one that I used on @NAOS just yesterday - hehepeepeecaca.

People are different and react to things differently. There have been more than just myself in this thread that said they got bad withdrawals from quitting weed and night sweats. I just don't get what your problem is with that statement? Do you not believe it?

I’m trying to understand the breadth of your use of the word “withdrawal”, which was the key concept in the point you were making. It was a move toward understanding. You got elusive and defensive. Now your pride is mingling.

Maybe my low carb experiment was “bread withdrawal” using your conceptions and definitions. If you had said so, then I think maybe I would have had a better understanding of how you were gauging things. You didn’t say so.

Mmhmm. But I’ve admitted to being an ******* and waging stupid/pointless battles; and I’ve never claimed the site was full of trolls. So, there are a couple major differences between you and I.

And then when you consider the quality of claims that you and I have each made—both jazz and non-jazz related—there’s a huge difference. Your takes are often just flat wrong and full of heavy-handed ignorance.

I have the few I felt were incorrigible trolls or attacked me personally on ignore. I think it's 3 people. I see no issues with that.

I also agree to a point that trolling behavior is a problem from time to time. To be fair to the moderators we need to help police the forum and report trolling behavior when we see it.

I would recommend to the moderators that when you determine trolling is being engaged in maybe a quick hand-slap would be stronger than the standard warning cycle. Like an instant 3-day ban or something for a first offense. But it would have to be pretty cut-and-dried trolling activity, not just the occasional smart-*** exchange or dumb-*** response, otherwise @Rubashov would be gone in a heartbeat.

Witty banter is one thing, posting stuff that is deliberately offensive, (without context) prejudiced and hateful is a separate matter. (Unless directed at @ONE LOVE who wholly deserves it.) For the most part I think the forum strikes a decent balance, there are some posters I don't engage with cause they're just *****ergs but you've got to take the good with the bad. Only poster I ever had on ignore was Dutch cause he's the sort of bloke I'd punch in a pub. Sometimes I think people should use a little more common sense and sensitivity around the joint but common sense is a super power.
