After 5 months of waiting, baseball is back! Who's your team? Make your World Series prediction here.

I am a Cubs fan for life. The last time they won it all was 14 years before my 88 year old grandfather was born. Maybe this is our year...

For my real prediction... I say the Red Sox over the Braves in the WS this year. They are stacked!

Da da da da da da da da da Tulo!

Ubaldo is going to open with a perfect game, end the season with an ERA under 1, and throw all 108 outs of the World Series.

Street will be sidelined from Rocktober 1st on as he's proven choking is an art.

CarGo will have the single best hitting season of all time. By season's end Jhoulys Chacin will be a household name.

Phillies are my team. They won't win the WS.

I wanted to go to Vegas and lay 20K on the Yankees to win over 91 games. I know I'm going to regret not making the trip.

what were the odds? seems kind of a low number for the Yankees, they didn't acquire any tremendous talent in the offseason... but by the trade deadline they'll probably pull a cliff lee type deal.

I didn't see it anywhere, specifically, just heard it multiple times from multiple sources. I'd guess -110 like most wagers. Maybe worse like -115 or -120.

Tulo is a hell of a player and good friend of my cousin who played ball with him at Long Beach State. Cargo may have a huge year... at home. His splits are pretty bad.

The thing I love about baseball? The fact that I don't have a vested interest in any team, meaning that I can pretty much buy any baseball hat I want to. There are two teams I do hate (Yankees and Braves) but everybody else is in bounds. I also stay away from buying a teams hat if they have recently won a World Series because I would hate to appear like a bandwagon douche.

Oh yeah, and Red Sox-V-Phillies in the series this year.

high today of around 43° for the Cubs home opener - glad I won't be at Wrigley Field

the baseball season should start about 10 days later and end about 5 days earlier. The season shouldn't start in March and end in November, though I'm sure some will disagree.

edit: well I guess it'll end a little earlier this year because they're starting a little earlier

Major League Baseball, trying to avoid having long underwear as part of its players' postseason apparel, is planning to start the 2011 season in earnest on Friday, April 1 - three days earlier than the traditional Monday opener.

It would be the first time a majority of teams start the season on a Friday since 1905, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

The regular season would end Wednesday, Sept. 28 with playoffs opening on Sept. 30 or Oct. 1. The World Series is scheduled to start Wednesday, Oct. 19, a week earlier than the last two years. It would virtually assure the World Series would not be played in November.

"Anything we could do to finish in October,'' commissioner Bud Selig told USA TODAY, "is what I wanted to do. It shows how serious we are in doing this. I feel very good about it, and am pleased at everybody's reaction.''

BoSox v Braves in the World Series. This is the year I finally get to see my favorite player in any sport play in person (if he's not injured by then). I'll be heading to Denver for the Braves 4 games series with the Rockies in mid July to see Mr. Chipper Jones in person.

I sat about 12 rows up from the first base dugout to watch the Braves play at Coors Field. Late nineties, I believe. My sister doesn't live in Denver anymore, so there isn't any incentive for me to go to a National League city anymore. :(
