Pac-12 Football Video

At least they have a video.

BYU is king of video now. Now maybe if you would've said at least that have a conference....which may or may not be a good thing. I'm still firmly a hater. I think Utah is going to be a bottom 6 pac 12 team year in and year out. We'll see if they can prove me wrong.

I thought it was implied in my post that "conference video" is what was meant. Weak sauce, I know, but I couldn't just sit there and take that. I seriously doubt they're a bottom six team, but they aren't ready to contend.

I'm stoked...

I havent been able to watch much utah football because I had a hard time getting "the mountain". I'm looking forward to having higher quality football week in and week out. I think the Utes will be able to compete in the Pac-12.

What is that situation like? I look at their schedule and only see 4 games slated on TV right now:

I'm not bashing, I actually am probably going to watch most of their games like I always do, but where are those other games going to show up? Is it basically a situation where FSN(or root - whatever it is called now) is just going to see how it goes and then pick them up if the start doing well and KJZZ is going to be plan b or something?

I bet most semi-intelligent/logical BYU fans read your post's and cringe. You're a sad little man.

they announced new pac 12 stations, not sure all the details but i know utah and colorado will share a station.

The PAC-12 Channels will not go into effect until next year. But I'm assuming anything will be an upgrade over the mtn. I also go to school in the state of Oregon... so I haven't had even the opportunity to watch much Ute football, or even order it, for a couple of years. What I'm most excited for is the "Mobile device" gimmick... I'm curious how that will pan out.

Either way, I'll problably be stuck watching Oregon St./Oregon football for one more year... mainly because this season is still under the PAC-10 television contract. I have no idea how there contract works, but PAC games are on all the time in Oregon (Doubt that'll guarantee anything for a Ute fan in the Northwest, though)

How the next contract will work though, is that if it isn't nationally televised (Fox) it will be on the PAC-12 channel which will be available nationally, but for a price pretty I'm sure. I bet they would also show the games on the regional PAC-12 channel as well.

Bolerjack is the new voice of the PAC-12 (with others). He did say if Utah was in the hunt for the south title come late October early November, to not be surprised to Utah get more games on national tv. Take that for what it's worth.

The announcement of the new Pac12 networks yesterday puts the Pac12 in a TV stratosphere that is not equaled as of yet (I'm sure the SEC, ACC and Big 12 will look at the Pac 12 model and soon follow suit).

The one negative I keep hearing from BYU fan is that they are tied with ESPN every week and that Ute fans will still have trouble finding Utah on TV. While that may be true to some degree during Utah's first year in the Pac12, in 2012 Utah becomes part of the best TV package in the NCAA's. Just like BYU needs a few years to enhance their schedule as an independent, Utah isn't getting everything right this second on their move to the Pac12. This year it may be a challenge to see every single Ute game, but that will quickly become a thing of the past. As for BYU being seen on ESPN every week, their games will usually be on the secondary rung of ESPN networks. Not that that's a bad thing, but doesn't ESPNU, ESPN2, etc. require additional subscriptions from your regular Dish/Cable packages? Seems to me that going forward, you'll have about equal accessability to either school's games.

Don't get me wrong, I love Utah and BYU fans sniping at each other as much as possible, but it's silly to see BYU fans taking shots at Utah's TV presence during year 1 of the Pac12 just like it's silly to see Utah fans taking shots at BYU for weak scheduling in their 1st year as an independent. I'm sure in the future BYU will be able to fill out a more well-rounded schedule and Utah is going to have some of the best opportunities in the nation in regards to TV exposure.

I think it's safe to say that both schools have left the Mtn where it belongs, well behind both teams. Why they could never get HD is beyond me...

That whole conference is about to fall apart. I'd be shocked if the WAC/MWC combo doesn't come back again very soon after TCU is officially out of there.

Bottom line, even though I like talking a little trash, I still do not like how college football is setup. And I wouldn't like it if BYU were Notre Dame or Texas. Bowl games and the path to those bowl games are still the pits.
