First, this is for those of you who thought we should just let Hayward go and sign Parsons. This was a naive wish from the start. IF you think Parsons is as good or better than Hayward, then why would you think he'd come at a substantially lower price than Hayward?

It also demonstrates the state of the market. In other words, if you want even second tier talent in the current FA market, you're gonna have to pay for it--a lot.

It also raises the question: Just who we going to get for Hayward that is as good as him (or close to it) but who costs substantially less?

Jazz are going to match.

Jazz should offer 4 years $60M to Parsons. I'd rather have Parsons than Gordon Koncak.

Even if the Jazz could get an offer to Parsons before he signs the offer sheet, do you really think he'd choose the Jazz over the Mavericks?

Where are all the Parsons lovers now?

"We can get Parsons to replace Gordon, he'll cost half as much!!!"

The Jazz gambled that Gordon wouldn't get this high of an offer, and now we have to match. No choice, we have to match.

Let Hayward walk and sign Loul Deng. We have enough young players, we need a real veteran leader like BIG-AL in the past. Deng is an elite defender and has a very good midrange game.

Trey Burke
Alec Burks
Loul Deng
Enes Kanter
Derrick Favors

We just need another shooting guard off the bench who can hit threes like Morrow and maybe also Garcia to back-up Hood and Deng.

Just out of curiosity, how much do you think Luol Deng is going to cost on the open market once LeBron James, Carmello Anthony and Chris Bosh have all settled their contract situations? I have a feeling that it's going to be quite a bit more than many were originally expecting. The same goes for Trevor Ariza. I have a feeling that these guys are all about to get PAID. Maybe take a look at a guy like Evan Turner who was traded at the deadline and really underperformed the second half of the season. You might be able to get him at a decent bargain.

If you are Luol Deng why would you sign with Utah, a team which is in the middle of a rebuild and is sure to be awful for a few more years?

Deng demands almost the same money from teams which is not lower than 12 million. With his age, recent injuries etc...

Yep, and Luol Deng is just itching to come here. Proposals like this will have more credibility is there's even the remotest chance they are feasible.

Even if Deng wanted to come here, we'd have to offer him a butt load of money to entice him.

We have to spent some money and I would rather spent 14 Million at Loul Deng for 3 years, than throwing max at Gordon ****ward. He is the superior Player and most importantly one of the best SF in the league, when it comes to defense.

He is basically getting the same contract except Hayward is getting a year longer, reason for that is he probably wants a new contract once Dirk retires so he isn't stuck on a rebuilding team.

LoL Deng has been exposed multiple times when it comes to defense, most overrated defender in the league, he just happened to play in a great defensive system. I wouldn't give more than 8-9 millions for Deng.

Hayward on the other hand is 5 years younger and has more room to improve.

Parsons is obviously a better shooter but that is the ONLY area he has over Hayward. Make your peace with it Hayward haters. The market has spoken and it has said that Hayward is indeed worth 4 years, $63 million. Think it's unfair? Perhaps you'd be happier watching High School basketball.

Parsons does not deserve a contract like this.
He is a good shooter but a lousy defender, especially for "that" money!

is it even an option to just save our money for an offseason where there are not as many teams with cap space and the contracts are not so big?
Serious question
