First, this is for those of you who thought we should just let Hayward go and sign Parsons. This was a naive wish from the start. IF you think Parsons is as good or better than Hayward, then why would you think he'd come at a substantially lower price than Hayward?
It also demonstrates the state of the market. In other words, if you want even second tier talent in the current FA market, you're gonna have to pay for it--a lot.
It also raises the question: Just who we going to get for Hayward that is as good as him (or close to it) but who costs substantially less?
