What's new

Paul George to Utah?

Yeah, it's an issue. But you still have to play the games and try to manage it the best you can and hope for the best. Seemingly over half the stars over 30 have major health concerns currently.
That's fair I suppose. Just have to wonder how well they hold up in the future. PG has only played in about 50% of available games in the last 4 years, and Dame about the same the last few years. They've got a ton of wear on that bodies Personally, I'm trading Dame, getting what value you can, build around Scoot, Simons, and whatever you get from Dame.

The Blazers would not be that dumb, would they?
They for sure would be that dumb. If you are going all in on Dame like he wants this is a perfect vet partner. Won't do any better than PG for #3.

We all know what they should do... trade Dame for the best package you can get and take this gift Charlotte is giving you in Scoot (probably). I think there is a 80% chance they don't do it though. The have a transitionary owner and front office. Likely too much short term thinking going on.

I agree... but sidenote... every post you make I read in Captain Obvious voice and it makes them a little more potent. Great work with the pic

No, no, no! We don't need THAT type of PG!

edit: but seriously? Do people rally think we are one Paul George away from contention? He's like 33... by the time we are ready to contend he will be way over the hill. If we are making a big trade IMO we need to be looking for a player whose timeline is better aligned with our current keystone pieces - Lauri and Kessler...

I’m not sure we’d even have to give up picks. The Clips might do it just for the cap relief.

Unreliable players no matter how great they can be are not worth much on the trade market which is why few if any ever get traded unless the team trading for them is extremely desperate or duuuumb

Yeah, it's an issue.

Jamal Murray was injured constantly too, but he got healthy and dominated. It takes luck to win a ring and health is always the biggest swing factor.
Jamal Murray wasn't injured constantly. He had one big injury and was only 23 at the time. Also players that are injury prone don't tend to get healthier the older they are.

Every injury prone player is actively getting older

No they wouldn't because they don't have control of their future picks and there are a few teams that would definitely jump on George if he was available. I think the heat would be at the top of the list if they can't snag Lillard. They would also make sense for the clips since Herro is a solid piece help them stay competitive.

You know what I am saying. We see a lot of player in their 20's go through stretches where they are bit by the injury bug and then get relatively healthy. Not so much when talking about players in there mid 30's.

I know what you mean, but I also don't know what the cutoff age is for when it's a thing vs not a thing.

How would PG move the needle? Are we suddenly champion caliber? Lol no. Dude has been surrounded by talent and not accomplished a damn thing. Similar to OP.

I get the feeling that the Clippers are just stuck. I would be surprised to see a trade. they just have to hope their guys can be healthy at this point. Kawhi was elite when he was but going into the offseason with another injury is just brutal luck.

I think it isn’t just bad luck anymore and have serious doubts we’re gonna see Kawhi healthy for any meaningful stretch again.
