What's new

Per @tribjazz: Tentative plan is for George Hill to play on Thursday

As much as I hate Mack's spazzy essence he did outplay Neto and Exum. My argument was thinking about the bigger picture, and getting Dante ready for the playoffs(and beyond).

Quin's thinking was, we need to win games now to even get to the playoffs. Mack I give you props for stepping up. I feel gross now. Shower time.

Or maybe Quin, like most other head coaches, puts the best players on the court. Unless/until Dante outplays Mack, Exum needs to have his *** glued to the bench. There's NOTHING preventing Dante from working on his shooting before and after practice, nothing preventing him from working on other aspects of his game. Dante just looks like he's coasting. His demeanor shows no fire. He kind of reminds me of Kris Humphrirs in that regard: all the physical tools, but no drive to take it to the next level.

I think Quin is trying to make Exum mad. If DNP's don't light a fire under Exum, don't inspire him to improve his game, then Utah does need to look for a new PGOTF.

You've been on my idiot list for some time, doesn't lie. Exum is nothing like that IQ-less Ken doll. Is he struggling yes, the good news is he's taking more risks, unlike in his rookie year which is leading to him making mistakes, the mistakes he should've been making last year. He's not just spotting up beyond the 3pt line. So he's not getting the same easy looks he was last year. Due to the year lost its almost like another rookie year. Give the guy some god damn time. Idiot!!

For the record I still believe he will be a star. The two things holding him back this year is his ability to finish at the rim and his loose handle. Both fixable. We've seen Hayward improve both even D-Will couldn't finish to save his life, but he learned to make it a strength by the time he had left. I have no don't Exum will do the same. Loose

Don't EVEN compare Dante to Deron. Deron could shoot(42%/42% when he was 21). He had a killer crossover. Yes, by all means let's extrapolate Exum having a great career based on nothing. And excuse Dantes ****ty play because he's been out of basketball. Let's just say 3 years because you really can't count a PG's rookie season, right? So he's a rookie THIS year. And he's not better because Quin is holding him back, just like the Jazz did with Burke.

I'm hoping Dante develops. Jazz already screwed the pooch with Kanter and Burke. Complete wastes of high picks. Hill was a good trade...IF he re-signs. If not, another wasted lottery pick. And if Dante is anything less than a very good starter, that's simply a waste of a #5 pick. DL is just lucky he's drafted well in the back end of the draft.

Between Dante at #5 and Hood at #23, Lavine is the only guy I like in-between those 2... I'm sure arguments could be made for others, but looking back this highly touted draft has turned out to be pretty weak.

Seems like getting back to near full strength and slaughtering the Embiidless Sixers seems like a great recipe to go on a nice run.

But this year man, I just feel like Rudy will go down or something now.

This is why the idiot list doesn't lie. I never compared him to D-Will. I stated a couple weaknesses holding Exum back namely dribbling and finishing at the rim and then referenced Williams lack of finishing at the rim and how bad he was as a young player first couple years to show that it was something he could realistically improve upon. I also referenced Exum's rookie year, how he didn't do much other then stand beyond the 3pt line, where as now he's doing more causing him to make the mistakes he should've made in his rookie season, so in a way it's like having another rookie year as different players develop at different speeds.

Idiot!!
