Players I don't want on this team next season

Guys: who I am fine not having on the roster: Neto, Whitey, Burks, Lyles,Diaw and Mack.
Guys: who I would now trade: Hood, Exum, Favors, and Ingles.

Waittt.

If you are happy to trade Hood, X. Favs and Jingles - you're fine not having them on the roster(?)

More like Klay would have gone for 40 and we would have stood no chance. Booker like all inefficient offensive players and horrible defensive players would not get many minutes on a play off team.

It's very hard to predict how a high volume shooting inefficient scorer like Booker would fit in on a team where he has to defer to other players, plays a role, and can't jack up 20-30 shots a game. He might be great, but also, his inefficient scoring might also prove to hurt the team.

Septic .. Hood has shown in 3 years that he can't penetrate and get to the free throw line. Everything points to him being a pretty average NBA shooting guard who has a few hot streaks every now and then. I don't think it'd be too hard to find a 2 guard who can shoot 37 % from 3 but who is faster and can penetrate and get to the line. And George Hill IS a really good player at that PG position.

Hood has a game every now and then that makes you go "Wow, this guy is or could be great," which makes you very reluctant to give upon him, but unfortunately he follows those up with 3-4 games where he can't hit the ocean from the pier. He's on a rookie contract one more year. I say we hang on and hope that he develops consistency next year, but if not, the league is full of players who can get hot occassionally, but who also don't hurt the team as much, or more, than they help it. And in saying this, I'm a Hood fan, but his inconsistency is really beginning to annoy me.

It isn't that Hill isn't good enough. It is his toe that is the problem. Plus add in he wants a big contract. If the the Jazz were able to get rid of Diaw, Favors, and Burks contracts they would have money to sign an all-star caliber player.

Even with Favors' injury concerns, Utah doesn't win that first round series without him. Dude came up big in the playoffs even without being 100%.

But sure, if Utah can find an all-star FA that wants to join Hayward and Gobert, Utah could theoretically find a way to clear cap room. My problem with that, is that Utah already has a potential 60 win team that could be even better next simply with better health and some internal growth. Losing depth in guys like Favors and Ingles could end up hurting more than it helps.

Last time Utah made this kind of move was letting Boozer go and trading for Al Jefferson. Didn't really work out like we hoped.

Anyway, I'm not sure it's realistic to think we can catch up to the Warriors by moving players around. Unless we can get one of our stars at half price, then we just can't stack the deck like they have. Might be better to stay the course and wait for their salary issues to catch up to them, which they will.

Locke: Rodney Hood has 17 uncontested shots (made 5) in upcoming series GSW might not be so fortunate.

This has been the story of the series for me. It's not that we could beat GS but this is why we haven't been competitive, why we lost last night. It's not that I don't want to see Hood next year and it's not that it's all on him but this is what's holding this team back right now. Can't have our shooter make only 5 of 17 uncontested shots. And in Hoods case, he's a liability if he's not hitting. He really never is, at least not in playoff games. Those are the shots someone has to make when you are playing a defense like golden state. Last night really should have been a jazz win. We played the right way... got our way. But we don't have the right role players yet. We had them where we wanted them but didn't have the tools to finish it. People have always been overly concerned with getting a superstar but I want to see this team with Gobert, Hayward, and stronger players around them. That's an achievable goal. We have to retain Hayward. And to do that I think Lindsey needs to have a big off season and acquire some more tools.

I think Hayward will come back, but if I were him I'd be looking at the Jazz to give me some more tools. It'd be a fair expectation from him.

The problem with keeping all our guys is that we can't afford to do so. Tough decisions are coming so why not use some of our assets to acquire more talented plays. Quality over quantity. I like a healthy Favors but his health is a major concern. People are simply saying if he gets healthy. That is a big IF. Now I am not a doctor nor do I know his condition but even with all the rest during the season he still wasn't healthy.

Hood isn't injured.

He's a steak shooter who doesn't have the aggressiveness or ballhandling to consistently get to the rim. He's basically a left handed JR smith. Or CJ Miles. He's always been this way. I don't know why people keep talking about his injury.

Probably because both he and Quinn have talked about how he is playing in pain every time he gets on the floor and that the only solution is rest once the season is over. Not sure if that is the cause for the inconsistency but that is the key question.

Disagree...I present to you Exhibit A:

Rodney Hood 2017 Playoffs:
26.2 minutes per game
36% FG
27% 3PT
87 Offensive Rating
113 Defensive Rating
5.9 PER

Boozer was one of the worst defenders ever. He didnt deserve that contract on Chicago and he sucked most of his time.
