I figure he deserved his own brief note. I just realized this is the cardinal who posted criticism of J.D.Vance on social media. I remember this incident, that the new pope was replying to, at the time, when Vance decided he was a Catholic theologian. I know Vance ticked me off with his restrictive interpretation of Christian love. And I remember reading the cardinal’s reply at the time, and was glad to see it. MAGA is most likely not pleased.

I love everything about all of that. But you know, I guess it makes sense, I mean when Jesus said "love thy neighbor as thyself", whoever wrote the Bible obviously just left out the "white" and "voted for Trump" parts of that, right? I mean, only if my neighbor belongs in the neighborhood and speaks English, right? How can I be expected to love someone that isn't a "real" Christian, after all.
