Punxsutawney Phil Jackson making excuses

Dude, with the lakers and their bandwagon fans, there's always an excuse.

If it wasn't the shot clock person, it was going to be the Bynum injury (while carefully forgetting the fact that we're without our allstar center).

IF it was none of the above, then they would have blamed Thanksgiving on the loss.... Or the Utes... Or the BCS or something.

I think Jackson is the most overrated coach in NBA history. Sure he has a bunch of 'ships, but look who was on those teams. Even I could have coached them to the championships. How well did he do when MJ retired for 2 years to play baseball? Then the second MJ leaves Chicago, guess who was right behind him?

As for the game last night, I thought Kobe got away with throwing a lot of elbows when he was battling for position. Also, what happened to the quick T's for showing emotion? Kobe would've been gone real quick if they were still enforcing that. There were a couple of times when he thought he should have gotten a call where he puts up his arms and is like, "Don't you know who I am? Didn't Stern call you today?". I hate playing the Lakers.

I disagree with him not being a great coach. Sure he has had some of the best players to ever play the game leading his teams, but he also put the mega stars together with some of the biggest headcases to ever play the game. It is very difficult to put the mega stars and talented headcases on the same team and Phil has been able to get the best out of each and everyone of them.

Both teams were disrupted by the play and the jazz had it worse when dwill forced that three when the shot clock robbed them of half of their time to run the offense. The difference was that the Jazz were mentally tough enough to overcome the disruption and Phils boys just couldn't hack it. Let em whine. It ensures that they don't learn anything from the experience!

and now that we have the best record of any team on the road....we may pull away from the Oklahoma team in the next couple of weeks!

Dallas, okc, and san antone have better road records. But I am still completely impressed by the jazz's new willpower. 4th best of 30 teams is still impressive, especially compared to recent years with jazz road woes. They definately have the abilty to be a great road team and still have that fearsome homecourt. Which spells contender if they can pull it off

Jackson's a great coach, but he's also an arrogant a-hole who can't deal with losing. He acts like he's a demi-god. He's the kind of guy who as a child, would take his ball and go home when getting his butt kicked by the other team. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason Jackson hates the Jazz so much is because Jerry Sloan was a much better player than Jackson.

Apparently Phil forgot that The Jazz were cheated out of 11 seconds late in the game when the shot clock didn't reset - this is probably because it was the possession that D-Will hit the game tying 3.

And that's the difference, Jazz executed and played clutch defense in the last 2 minutes and The Lakers didn't - end of story.

What Phil can't admit is he ran the same exact damn play 5 possessions in a row - iso with Kobe and then a high pick. When The Jazz finally figured out how to get the ball out of Kobe's hands the rest of the Lakers were ice cold because they've been doing nothing on offense for the last 3+ minutes other than standing around watching Kobe take over.

Then in the last two minutes all The Lakers did was shoot jumpers - two by Gasol and two bricks by Artest. Two of those possessions were out of time outs.

Phil's got 11 rings - there is no denying that. But last night his coaching down the stretch hurt The Lakers more than the shot clock did.

Of all the Lakers on the court, he was the one I wanted shooting the clutch shots. It made me very happy to see him throwing those up.

most around here read way way to much into stuff. THis is classic phil not putting blame on anyone but tryin to get into the jazz head by saying this. Anyone who knows phil jackson can see this

you know phil jackson? can you introduce me? i need some advice on my smug, "i'm better than you" attitude before my high school reunion.

VJ is right, Jacko is way over rated. Please stop with the "but he put headcases together with talent and made it work" crap. So freaking what? Give me Jordan and Pippen, and then throw in a totally talented 'headcase' like Rodman and I would make it work.
He has people skills. For sure. He is also the most over rated coach of all time, easily.

He gets my vote for most disliked coach in the league. Always playing games and trying to work the system and never willing to coach without a superstar lineup. Not impressed

I get that Phil is an annoying little bitch, but he has been doing this for close to 20 years now. Let it go, get over it, do something. You guys are reacting exactly how he wants you to react. Phil Jackson is basically a troll, but in real life interviews rather than interwebz forums.

There is a reason he has to use a high chair on the sideline and its not the medical excuse.
