Not getting any rebounding. Jazz defense is smothering them and they are not getting it into Joel at all. Also, Jazz getting away with more contact than we are.
I kind of wish my Sixers had a deep bench that was as talented as the Utah Jazz is.

doc again insisting on playing the 5 man scrub lineup. we could be the worst rebounding team i've seen in a long time. i've never seen a team give up so many 2nd chance baskets. and what exactly is danny green doing on the floor? he is absolutely worthless. he is in no way an nba starter at this point in his career. i'm not sure what his job is. if he stands in the corner and gets open 3's , sometimes he's ok, he cannot dribble, cannot pass, doesn't rebound and he isn't even much of a defender any longer. korkmaz and niang are black holes. would it really kill doc to play isaiah joe? who could he be worse than? we so desperately need a wing player it's not funny. f x5 brett brown for the bridges trade
Not sure what all the teeth-gnashing on the game thread was all about. The better team won. The Jazz are in fact considerably better than the Sixers right now, and it's more than by any two non-Joel players you care to name. If we get a Ben-equivalent back on the floor and the rest of the team fully recuperated, we might still not be at their level, but at least it'd be a fair fight.
But, that's what a very well-constructed NBA roster looks like. They have runners and gunners and bigs, they can play inside and outside, they have one elite defender and several other plus ones, they're either the deepest roster in the entire league or second to the Suns. Most of all, they have a functional, well-practiced offense that involves running plays to get guys open for shots, as opposed to the Sixers offense, which is designed for...uh...gimme a minute.... Right, never mind.
The Jazz are the sort of roster I'd hoped we'd build coming out of the process, but that ship has sailed. The worrisome part is that even adding another Stah might not be enough. You could drop Dame or Beal or whomever else you lust after onto the Sixers tonight, and we'd still likely have gotten our clocks cleaned. When you depend on 90's style ISO ball on offense, and you and have trouble boxing out on defense, any small to moderate talent advantage you might have is instantly negated. That's a much better constructed, better coached, better executing team. We'd likely have to beat two if not three teams like that in the playoffs to win a chip. Sorry guys, but that's where we are right now. It ain't pretty. Maybe we can grind out and steal a win against the W's on Saturday.
The Jazz have at least 5 players who can come off a high PNR and fire 3's off the bounce. Against the Sixers drop coverage, it's like target practice.
And I enjoy watching our explosive PG bring the ball past half court, make a simple feed to the wing to a player who is no threat off the deck, and then go stand in a corner and watch the rest of the play. How can you not enjoy that? I think Maxey even played in the dunker spot on multiple occasions tonight, and even got a layup off it.

This is the first game they've been massively outrebounded against in awhile, maybe all season. They had a bad game. It happens.
What an ugly game. We have no consistent shooting and therefore Embiid’s gotta score 30+ points for us to have a chance at winning. That ain’t fair to him at all Morey’s gotta get him some help. This team has first round exit written all over it.. I’m down bad.. smh. Can’t wait for any kind of trade news with this team, Feb. 10th can’t come soon enough.

The jazz really seem like the worst possible matchup for the Sixers. Big center who can slow Embiid down and everyone can shoot 3s. The Sixers on the other hand have no one who can consistently shoot 3s to help Embiid out outside of curry.
