PG Raul Lopez has retired. In 2001, Jazz took him 24th. Also considered Tony Parker (28th to San Antonio). I know Jazz agonized over pick.
Lopez was a better shooter at the time. Knee injuries, of course, derailed his NBA career. Showed glimpses of his ability at times, though.

He moved on to have a very prolific career in the spanish league and made a few appearances on the national team. OP repped for the recognition he deserves.

He tore his ACL twice before coming to the NBA, after getting drafted.

Super unfortunate.

I hated the pick when it was made. Eventually I came around. Was pretty hopeful of him being the heir-apparent PG and was certainly in the Lopez camp vs. Arroyo. I really thought he, Borchardt and Pavlovic were really going to be a good supporting force around Kirilenko.
