Raul Neto : new spectacular talent

colton, you know me as a religious guy. There's certainly nothing wrong with using that as your sig. And Hotttnickkk, sahlensguy and whoever else are welcome to talk about religion to their hearts content. But this thread was stickied to talk about Raul Neto. No rules were broken, but instead of a religious reference or two or the occasional joke, the thread was entirely hijacked. I guess I'm overly sensitive because it IS a stickied thread and we're still trying to talk about Raul, but have to scroll through post after post of a 2-person conversation about religion. Much more appropriate for those guys to take it to "The Longest Thread" in GD, create their own thread or PM each other. Maybe the solution is to sipmly "unsticky" this thread since it is no longer relevant to talking about Raul Neto, our draft pick. If there's any additional news about him, we can create a new thread.

Sounds reasonable on all fronts.

Here is a highlight of this brazilian guy, he is born in 92 and 6'2'' , he possess amazing driving and passing skills, court vision , good shot, he seems to have amazing potential, and as far as i know he played in 2011 nike summit hoops. I wonder when he is gonna enter the draft. It would be nice to see him in future in Utah

Raul Neto is in Orlando awaiting FIBA clearance to be able to participate in summer league, according to a source. He's been observing Jazz.

If Raul Neto is cleared to play this week, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be with the Jazz this upcoming season.

I thought they would stash him away overseas for a year or two. Maybe they want to see if they want to bring him over now to fill in the back PG spot?

I like Neto. I'm fine with them bringing him over to fill a backup PG spot. I'd rather have the young guys working together instead of signing retreads or cast-offs. I'd be fine with Tinsley coming back, but Raul will cost a lot less for the next two seasons if they bring him over.

I honestly thought this is what the plan was all along, him playing in the summer league to but then not likely being able to get his contract issues worked out this year so he would have to stay one more year in Spain.

He's at the games sitting at the end of the bench but not in uniform. Still working things out with FIBA to be able to play in the summer league games.

Competition isn't exactly a distraction...competition is a good thing.

I would also say you'll take your job more seriously if you know that somebody is gunning for your job. I'm sure Burke is very motivated, but it's not a bad thing to push him. C'mon Nickkkkkkkk, you're better than this.

Well I guess this now puts this "Should we bring over Neto to compete with Burke or not??" conundrum to rest....

Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. And you know, it’s something that we’ve talked about.

But I think with where we’re at, with Trey and the rest, that, we’re, you know, it would’ve been hard to put, you know, Ty in the position to try to develop and play two point guards simultaneous. It would’ve been, it would’ve put, you know, him and the team in a couple of rough spots.
