Re-Tool Younger Trade Idea

Agreed. Look at the primary bigs for Boston and Miami. Theis and Adebayo. All of 6'08 and 6'09. They are skilled, protect the paint and finish in the paint. Ideally Juwan can become a serviceable version of that.

I agree. That's why I wouldn't put too much emphasis on using the MLE to re-sign Favors. If we could find a way to convince Favors to take the BAE ($3.6+), then we could use the MLE on the best possible wing defender we can find.

If we could add Bojan, Favors and a solid wing defender to our recent playoff roster, maybe we can make a run if the ball bounced our way a little.

you can have multiple wings with rudy. he'd excel in a big lineup. it was DL's conscious decision to use up all the resources at hand to stash guards instead
I know... I'm saying can we trade for or sign multiple athletic wings without trading Rudy or freeing up his cap space? Like do we have the assets.

Its one of those things where maybe you can flip Conley for a Horford/Richardson and draft stuff... then can you get a dynamic wing for Rudy in a trade and roll with Al. I don't see anything I would like. The Conley trade suitors are limited and most likely offering **** we don't want.

Hypothetically, that Philly trade works. I think we would have to score big on the Rudy deal BEFORE any Conley deal taking back Horford.

Conley turns into Horford, Richardson and draft considerations

Rudy turns into Jaylen Brown? Bradley Beal (would take a 3 team trade)? #1 from GS? Some haul from the Pelicans? Hornets?

Conley was a bait and unfortunately DL fell for it. A historic choker in playoffs who never won a playoff G7 in his career was supposed to help a team that never lost a G7 for over 20 yrs to take a step forward. And people compared it to the Kawhi trade too. What a joke

You won't get Brown or Beal. I would be stoked to have Beal, but he isn't really our biggest need. Getting a top 3-4 pick would be on my list if I got a promising young player too... not sure that is out there either.

Getting an established good two way wing is really expensive in the trade or free agency market unfortunately. Non-shooting centers are on sale.

We are a little stuck and kind of relying on a good signing or a draft pick becoming something awesome. Like sign Jones Jr. and all of a sudden he shoots 38% from three or some ****. Oni or Brantley could develop into something good on the wing.

I think Quin has some things to work out too.

The time to win is now. Rebuilding and wasting prime years of your best player, DM is just plain dumb. Rudy has his flaws but our defense would be horrible without him. He needs some help from our back court. jazz need to add some athletic wings who can defend the perimeter better and get back a healthy Bogie. I agree that Rudy is not a 30+ player and signing him to a max would pretty much shut down improving the Jazz with a really good FA.

The only reason why I would trade Rudy is if he gives me any indication he will leave or wants the Max. Jazz can not keep losing All=star caliber players with out getting anything in return. I want the Jazz to move Royce and Joe to the bench. Signing both Shaq and Justice Holiday would be awesome. Getting Bogie back will be huge.

I still have some doubts about DM at the PG position. He was awful in game 7. If that is the direction the team takes then I would have him spend some time with Stockton and talk about how to run the show. DM is a great scoring PG but he still has a lot of issues with his decision making in the passing game. He gets caught up in the air without knowing what to do. Maybe just more experience will help but it is a glaring issue in him being a full time competent PG.

Please no more Niang, Ed Davis Bradley types. We need to whittled down all of our young guys to 2 or three. Oni and Brantley, I think I would keep.

If you find out Rudy might leave or he wants supermax, you trade him.

If Rudy is staying on a reasonable contract, trade Conley.

If Conley is truly untradeable, package Ed Davis, Bradley, #23 and 2nd rounders for something better. Maybe even look to sign-and-trade Clarkson to a desperate team thats over the cap.

just get a point forward who can also adapt off-ball and let him share the ball-handling duty with DM. Problem solved.

A role that Ingles has been playing for us all these years and it is proven to be the solution all along. rather than all these 2-year PG rentals that DL wasted his time and resources for. Unfortunately Ingles is getting older so we need to find him a long term replacement sooner rather than later.

This year, Julius Randle averaged more assists (3+) than these guys who also averaged at least 27mpg....

Jason Tatum
Buddy Hield
Colin Sexton
Jae Crowder
Gary Harris
Joe Harris
Bojan Bogdanovic
Jaylen Brown
Porzingis

And the Knicks were absolute rubbish. Imagine if his passes went to Joe, Don, Bojan, Clarkson or lobs to Rudy. He isn't a point forward, but he can pass and handle the ball.
