Report Card Time (team grades)

Royce should deserve better than a C. He has been a very good player considering he was undrafted and he replaced Bolomboy who never got minutes. His contract is VERY cost effective and we have him locked up for 2 more years. Based on his minutes he is well beyond a player at his pay grade or expectations. He isn't perfect, but surely a B+.

Also, I would give Neto a little credit at a B. Above average Neto minutes all year.

Finally, I would give the Mike Elliot an A+++. If you don't recall who he is or what he has done...

I would say it took about 6 months for him to achieve the status with each player he wanted, but since about midseason we have been one of the healthiest teams in the country. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE THE LAST 3 YEARS!!!

Yep! Health is a key reason for their success this year. Even getting Gobert and Rubio back from injuries earlier than expected was a pretty big deal. Ricky has been beaten up pretty badly this season. He’s one tough Spaniard.
 
And if you think about it... EXUM OUT FOR SEASON articles were all over the place 7 months ago. If you all remember the old system we had players who would sprain a toe-vag-muscle and have to sit out for 3 weeks beyond the anticipated return. Whatever Elliott is doing is amazing!
 
I only had the time to read the thread now, but I pretty much agree with fishonjazz initial post, especially about Sefolosha's contribution early on. I would grade O'Neale and Jerekbo higher, though. O'Neale basically came out of nowhere and established himself as a versatile rotation player -- although a inconsistent one. I would give him a B-. Jerekbo almost always found a way to contribute. For a guy who has subpar athleticism and a limited skill set, that is quite an accomplishment. I think he deserves a B- also.
 
Jerebko is one of our best finishers around the rim - from 0-3 feet, he shoots 70%, 4th best on the current roster. Favors is best at 78% and Gobert is second at 73%. Jerebko is also our 3rd best 3-pt shooter at 41%, behind Ingles and Neto. He's team-best from the corner, hitting 53% from there. Very good, versatile offensive player.

I should have graded Jonas higher and it’s weird that I didn’t. I have been praising him all season and made numerous comments that I didn’t think he should lose minutes when we acquired crowder.

His hanging, floating, bank shots from about 7 feet out are money and extremely tough shots that he makes with ease. He also has a killer, if ugly, frozen rope sky hook that somehow goes in with regularity.

He also gets screwed by the refs more than any player on the team.

Logged in to post this. He's unreal when he gets a head of steam off those skip passes. 3 defenders have to collapse on him but he either puts up a great shot or draws a foul and rarely kicks out to the strong side corner.

I'm going to be legit angry if any of the players are sacrificed for "business" unless it's the Jazz doing right by them like they did Joe Johnson. The only players I don't care to see leave are Burks cause he deserves more minutes, Stockton is a cute story but it's not a roster fill really, O'Neal I was impressed with early but that guy does to many stupid things, and Neto. Nero seems like a solid dude so I HATE to throw him under the bus but he is plenty expendable. We could always get someone like that midget who chest bumped Hayood at the free throw line.
