What's new

Respect to Robyn Hayward's incredibly tough journey. Strongest NBA wife in the world.

Still the Millers took out a full page ad in 2 papers thanking Hayward. Pretty sure the Pacers didn't do that.

This I don't get. Utah has a "weird" perception. This only adds to it.

What company loses their top employee, setting them back years, and then thanks the employee for it?

Just as Hayward's epistle was dumb, so was this.

Sports and jazz fans are for me. I'm not the one attacking a player's wife, attacking a player, and being a general baby.
Drama queen

We are "wierd" because we have class? (Well as a organizationñ can't speak for the fans lol) if I'm a player that's a team I want to play for.

Class? Gail Miller has class a ton of it, she was behind that.

The fan base(read these forums and twitter), beat writers and columnists have shown 0 class.

Beat writers reaching out to Booker for his "thoughts" and that is journalism? Booker does not know GH and was not a close teammate. That's like reaching out to a co-worker you were not friends with.... Relevant?

As a matter of fact that may be the reason why no S&T.

Booker knew him for 2 years. Probably got much more insight into him in 2 years then we did in 7. Booker also made mention that it was his opinion and what he heard through the player vine. I highly doubt we reached out to him for a hayward comment. More then likely he decided to stick up for the fan base and contacted jody or tony. Nobody had to reach out to Lyles for his 2 cents...
Guess we could always reach out to you and Green for a look into Haywards mind though.

My point is Booker is still Gossip. Hayward keeps things close to the vest. Would you want co-workers that don't know you well telling other companies all about you?

It happens. I'm not thin skinned enough to let that affect me though. My point is, Joe Jesus made damn near the same statement about DWill when he was with Brooklyn. I've heard Deron was guarded also but being private or guarded doesn't mean someone can't make a educated guess about you based on they're observations. The media did not employ Hayward, so Booker going to them (or the news to him if you like) was probably more for the fans benefit. If I'm a Jazz beat writer and know Booker may not have liked Hayward that much in his 2 years that's who I'm going to for a comment. I don't need anymore Bartlewood answers. That letter basically trashed us IMO. I do agree it would hold more water if Gobert had made the comment. But who's to say he knew him either..

I'm just not a fan of he said / she said amongst teammates. You never hear GH do that stuff (as many other stars).

Look, I agree, GH owes the Jazz organization a ton. They bet on a twig kid and it worked out. I am still not a fan of kids coming out early then orgs being penalized for that extra development time. I think if you come out early those many years should be added to your rookie deal.

Hayward , I mentioned in another post, I think may not even be in the NBA if he was on any other team. He started slow. He did work his *** off and "get there" but he is not the norm. I think he is the only player in the NBA to increase his scoring his 1st 7 years.

Other orgs wouldn't have invested in him and just cut their losses.

That dimension is what I would have hoped would have kept him with the Jazz.

I also know this, he always surprises me.

I told my kids there was no way he would get MAX as a RFA and boom 2 teams were going to (Cleveland and Charlotte). Blew my mind. At this time we had Richard Jefferson mouthing off to the media that Hayward shouldn't be that picky on money. Great teammate huh.

Quite frankly, I didn't think he had the balls to leave the Jazz. He was face of franchise, nice guy, nice family with the only criticizm that he doesn't get into it with other players.

Boston Media is tough x 100. He may get eaten alive. He may thrive. It's his life, he did surprise me again.

Jazz will be fine with Gobert. I am rooting for anyone to dethrone the GS Warriors.

Let's root for a Jazz vs Celtics NBA Finals in say 2-3 years (very possible) Wouldn't that be cool !

No way another team would have cut Hayward. There is no way he would have been out of the NBA no matter which team drafted him.

Maybe he doesn't develop into an all star but that is debatable but he would definitely be a good player in the league regardless of who picked him.

Related to Hay's wife and her Instagram faux pas -- that was the perfect time for Gordon to admit the truth, that he wanted to play for the Celtics instead of continue with his ruse, which I'm sure his agent advised him to do. Then the Jazz could've signed and traded him. Of course, they wouldn't have gotten full value but at least they could've gotten something from the Celts, probably Crowder and a pick. I don't know, maybe the Celtics wouldn't have fallen for it or maybe Hay would've refused to sign.
